Definately better with the avatars (even though they're big, lol).




It gives the site back some of its soul.

^the reason I put the huge space after my first sentence is there's a ats banner across where we type that we can still type under, but we're typing blind. The text goes under the banner so we don't see what we're typing until its posted.

Autocorrect sometimes puts in some really scary stuff that could be embarrassing or even get someone censored or banned.
Autocorrect has a warped sense of humour and is possessed. ....

Really love the new design.

So far I've only seen two things that seem funky.

- At the bottom of the thread where it displays the page numbers, if it is more than 4 pages it pushes the numbers & "Top" to a second line. Makes it look messy & smushed.

- The divider line for signatures seems to need more contrast in the dark version. It's hard to tell where the post ends & the signature begins on some posts depending on how the member has added the signature. (I know this could be a color calibration issue, but wanted to point it out)

I remember the good old days when we had the 'ignore button'.

And I'm saying this with all due respect.
I understand some people like to debate things, but sometimes when trolls come along it's hard to stay on topic, and in those cases it can actually derail a thread from its original purpose and turn a once very informative thread into a boxing ring of two or more members. The thread loses its worth then in my opinion. Just throwing this out there.

A lot of forums use it, and I don't understand why ATS stopped.

But only one issue for me personally. Where is the 3 columns in 'new topics' that are sorted by REAL-TIME,NEW PICKS and NEW-HOT!

The signatures are too dark to read. But from what I can see it looks good to me, now that I have used the light/dark screen.

I know you said too much drama, puzzling to me as there is a delete function, can't imagine why Mods would be involved, but I accept that was your experience. Without being able to see who authored the threads on myATS and no posting on profiles, no friends list so I can check out individuals whose threads I enjoyed in the past, it feels less friendly, no pun intended.

Also Mods online are not highlighted?

This is loooong, but hey, I just read 19 pages of tips, ideas, issues, etc. and I'm not good at being brief, I wear boxers and I'm not very funny.

I use Firefox (up to date) at work my OS is WinXP (which is what was used to test) at home my OS is Win7. I expect the experience will be the same.

First, I was blinded by the light, got revved up like a deuce, but now I’m another roamer in the night

I was scared for all of 2 minutes, mostly scared of the light, but once I flicked the switch I fell in love.
This is the most awesome site update you guys have done. Fitting to the trends nicely and yet not as gaudy as most. (Please, forever hold Win8 as an example of what never to do)

Okay, I love the site, but what kind of an ATS member would I be if I didn’t nit-pick?

The site seems a bit big – maybe employ global +- buttons that associate with either IP/cookie data and/or Profile info.

On the «Recent» and «Archive» pages :
- Instead of auto-loading – when scrolling to the bottom of the page – would it not be better and more browsing-friendly to have a «Load More» button? (personally I detest auto-loading, I find «pages» much easier to navigate)
- It would be cool if you could select «Conspiracy», for example, and simultaneously check «Flags» and be able to select «Descending» or «Ascending». Basically; if there was a Descending/Ascending button under «Flags» and «Replies» which could be selected, so, for example, you could select «Conspiracy» and «Flags – Ascending»

It’s nice to see William One Sac still being acknowledged. Salute.

Poo-poo ka-ka’s :
-I’m not sure how I feel about the new emoticons :/ they're pretty poo. The old ones are kif, brah.
-I kinda understand removing the message section on the Profiles area, but no Friends or ‘Respected’ Foes? I realize there are abuse issues, but at least keep the Friends section. There’s history there for me of interesting, odd and off the wall people I like to check up on.
-When I press «spacebar» to scroll the page it cuts a little bit off and I have to use my mouse wheel anyway:/ (I use that a lot when reading at work and my hands are busy)
-Where’s the setting to choose to display Avatars or not? It’s proved very helpful in looking ‘serious’ in the work-place.
-There seems to be a bug with the colour palettes on the Profile page - half blanked out. (Viewport:1424x726-Document:1424x1966)
-There’s still an issue with selecting time-zones in profile. I’ve been living in Baghdad since I joined, pretty much, and I’d really like to move to Cairo.

Under ‘myATS’, Favourite Forums, what is that check-box for?

Lastly, not important but with choosing between the light and dark themes; what if you have user defined gradient bars, one for text and one for background? That way users can choose their fancy – I would choose blacker than black background and darkish-grey text, just me though

First of all, I prefer much better the present blue background color. The grey/whitish background is too... too whitish. This blue background feels like you're in a private room debating with other generals. The whitish is too formal.

I agree with Starheart. One of the great feature of ATS in my opinion is its dark background. I'm light-sensitive, and this current dark background is a blessing when I log in. One of the few sites which doesn't give me a headache after hours of readings.

I had an issue with bold text.

I first tried to do it the old-fashioned way (manually inserting the [ b ] and [ /b ]), but that didn't work, so I figured I would use the bold text tool at the top of the compose page. That didn't work either, but the I accidentally (and serendipitously) screwed up, and put the [ b ] [ b ] (twice) before the text, and it bolded fine when I did that.


I'm using Windows 7 and Firefox

You can also click the little mail icon next to the "light/dark" button and it'll take you to your U2U box.

EDIT: its a resolution thing. My screen is double the resolution of the viewport. I can zoom in but can't zoom out

Yes, that's how mobile devices report the viewport. Pixel-dense or high-resolution phones typically report 50% of the pixel space as the viewport. iPhones are the same way.

I like it, i like the colours and the lay out. The recent threads page looks better. cant really complain, although I'll find something

Whatever you just did to the ads . . . IT'S WORSE . . . encroaching on the middle page section very annoyingly.

I really have no idea that this is or how it could be fixed.
