First Contact would be pretty amazing. I'd like to think that humankind would come together and work with aliens to keep our planet habitable--or to find a means of FTL travel, etc.
On a darker note, I can't help but remember an old Twilight Zone
episode: "To Serve Man." For those too young to remember, this episode was about First Contact. And the aliens served as tour directors, arranging passage to "paradise." The main tour guide/alien always held a book. In Act III, as the hero boards the ship, his assistant decodes the book's title: To Serve Man was a cookbook.

A thought provoking post. Here's a star and my first flag.

First contact, would most likely be slavery and come from government where ET and the very negative group that runs this planet, already have massive implentation of the gradual take over of everyone, and all stats being kept on computers, so they can fine tune all possible responses. They are ASSHATS and FELONS coscmically, it doesnt matter what they think or say or believe, they have failed their tests, unless they turn this around.

In a system of infinite progression, the bigger siblings (and that's debatable but we'll pretend for this concept) do not lord it over the younger siblings. For the test is to overcome Ego and Lower Primitive Body Suit. Natural order, ie. domination of the strong bullies, is the Beast, its primitive lower order. Akin to flushing yourself down the cosmic toilet. And thus, they have regressed. They came into help, the ones humanish. The other ones, I don't call them ET, they're certainly not higher ups. Dominators are lower realm mentality. As such they operate out of mental deficits already.

The human race is one big failure as the caretaker species the Aliens tried to create, hoping we would nurture this beautiful little planet, and all other life on it. Instead of tampering with the DNA of apes, they should have chosen a much milder native species, such as box turtles or even sloths. Apes are far too agressive, the end proof being ourselves!

Personally, I think we are a pretty pathetic species, if we let ourselves decide to change, or better ourselves.
Create a bigger and single human entity, among the other aliens in our part of the galaxy.

I think this naive and passive way of life, causes us to be lazy and prevents original advancements made by human minds through the human consciousness and our own identity as a species.
If we let us stand still or hold our own development, because we expect an alien source of advice to guide us the right way...

We will then be a worthless, stupid species, not able to improve anymore about themselves, and their way of life and place inside of our own environment, waiting until we die by natural selection or because of th lack of ability to adapt and change our role in the bigger picture. Like an infection causing disease and wastes resources only to get on a stand still, because our evolutionary weapon, "mutation" is blocked by a vaccine and leaves us harmless and a failed species in a long list of extinctions.

First contact !

Would either be part of an attack, destroying Earths artificial defense mechanism or annihilation of the complete human defense systems, paving the road to invasion or enslavement of humanity.

It could also be a last resort action to prevent humanity from destroying th unique little blue planet, a rare gem in the middle of a mainly empty and rough part of space.

Will not happen for the human lack of understanding any other way of communication, outside of language and binary code.

Will not happen because of the trigger happy cave people, that somehow imagined that when they see something new or scary, destroying it will make it go away.

It happens when they are ready to show our silly lifes and dumb ideas, showing our insignificant on the grand scheme of things. Making it entertaining for the alien broadcast about our lives. The last episode cleaning the globe from these arrogant yet stupid species around. Fixing the natural order to create a natural balanced world..


Basically. I think humanity don't deserve to be rescued, because of our lazy and naive attitude. We aren't adding any interesting reason or origin any informative research material, to be worthy of a stay on the petri dish.

Maybe the reason for our existence is to show how an endless drag it creates by giving a single species the ability and individuality hoping they would work together and excel to grow and solve lives issues etc....
We only turned into a selfish and greedy species on;y caring about their personal life and time on the world. Unable to care about the resulting destruction and erosion of the surrounding environment, creating a waste land, empty of life and everything else.

P.S.
I and some intelligent individuals, will have been extracted from our world. As only I and a few others are interesting funny and understanding role models that deserve to live.

But I could push it... I'm always a positive minded person, and I foresee a great future with our new alien species friends and foes, we wil only improve and loose our human errors to get us in trouble and we aill be watched, saved and cherished by all others that see our virginity, our bay born beginning, our first steps in the real world outside our bubble....
Yes we are important enough for it and we can mess up all we can. We will be saved anyway.

Um....wrong scenario. Humans have been on this planet for many cycles, and many times upped in brain function, dna and psi. Knowing where they came from. They all have DNA from Lyra stock, throughout the system and even contributed by Rigel/Orion groups, one area Lyra fled with reptilians always on their heels.

The actual DNA for humans came from Lyra, and the DNA for mammals such as apes, pigs, cows, cats, dogs, etc, came from cosmic humans. We didn't come from them, they were offsprings of the ET genetic labs using human dna to make sure there was compatibility in emotions for some animals, and compabatily in medicines even for others.

The great equality was destroyed by the annanuki group that did the out of Africa Sumar labs, and they really NERFED humans.

Humans were given 2 strands operational out of the 12 strands, their hemipsheres divided and more impulses from the reptilian brain, anger and domination.

So called tests suddenly made harder and the attempts by a very so called intelligent higher group, off planet, but in reality, anyone who dominates another is a beast, or past level/lower intelligence...and I can't emphasize that enough.

The methods used to harm, enslave and even hold back spirit/soul progression, are called CHEATING cosmically and done by used car sales mentality dark hats, who just do the same thing over and over throughout the cosmos, for its works and they're not really what is known as intelligence.

Intelligence is a Growth of Consciousness which includes Awareness, Understanding, Love and Empathy and Morality.

One more point while we're on this. Humans did not destroy this planet, the corporations did, and the elite world mismanagers did.

And here is something that apparently IS part of our tests, but we don't learn it easily.

We give our power away. So the Rothchilds/Rockefellers and leaders, "speak with an aura of authority and privilege" though some of our leaders are drugged out of their minds, and not morally capable of thinking in those terms.

And acting with authority, people, who have been trained from early childhood to look up to elders and to be taught and nurtured by those with authority, give their power away to the bravado of the bully taking power.

It seems that humans have genetic disposition to give their power away and yield to the idea of a specialist or professional opinion.

The idea of working grass roots in every community, uniting diverse groups such as homeless, disabled, minorities and the middle class, to unite and raise awareness, consciousness and problem solve, coming up with ideas, to resist and not comply with the corruption and to help each other and create happiness and prosperity/abundance for all, is not coded in this model of human's DNA. And doing what is needed seems to go against their grain.

That tells me, that doing the right thing, is a part of the tests, and all the tests are more about stepping out of our comfort zone, like a fish swimming up strong currents.

Anyway, its not humans that are at fault here.

First of all, what do you know about 'aliens'? What do you know about the human race, when you live inside a constructed BOX caled society? Meaning there are groups of 'people', who control everything you live for.

People could go on for weeks exchanging ideas of what would "save the human race".. Let me end this discussion (with complete valid points, that most will probably skip in ignorance):

The human race needs not to survive from anything but ITSELF. So why bring 'aliens' (somethign you know nothing about) into the conversation about survival?

Now the real thing 'humanity needs to survive':

Love, compassion, joy, wisdom/knowledge that flows through everyone, people to THINK FOR THEMSELVES, everyone to learn to feel in their hearts what is morally right, and the total crash of religion.

Simple as that.

Be a positive, kind, loving person - but still be YOU. It doesnt mean everyone will be the same, it means everyone will show the same appreciation and acceptance for one another, as we live on this rock together.

But that is more impossible for people to do and accept then calling upon strange beings no-one knows anything about, nor what their intentions would be for a minor race screaming "HELP! WE CANT GET ALONG AND ARE DRIVING OUR RACE AND PLANET INTO A PIT OF HELL!". .. . .

Any 'alien' would take full advantage of that waving flag, because they know the most precious thing would be up for exchange - Earth's resources = ship fuel/resources. As well as compelte control over the race.

Why do you think we have "Gods"? Beings came down, they took control over this minor race, and made the 'lower' beings (humans) worship them for their 'god-like' intellect and capabilities. And guess what; they never left.

So before you go calling upon somethign you cant even comprehend you just have a Hollywood idea of; use your heart not your words. Think for yourself and dont be influenced to think based on whats outside of you.

With a statement like that, claiming to have "destroyed" my premise, I would have at least hoped for facts to back up your claim. As it stands, you have only offered a position based on opinion. Much similar to mine own. Remember this is an opinion piece.

you must be quite naive to think that the emotions you have listed are going to change the world. I am not necessarily saying your wrong, but our current behavior's and mentality has been engrained into the generations for far to long for concepts like "compassion" to have any real impact.

For example, we receive a plea from someone seeking salvation from their hunger, we toss them a few dollars and be on our way barely having another thought of it, except for our own content in the deed. That simple gesture of compassion did not just solve world hunger...We would all need to do this to effect any change, which i have argued is beyond our ability.

I wish it could be that simple my friend. If we could solve all of the planets strife, pain and suffering with words of kindness, I would be first to try. None the less, I applaud you for handing out your love and peace pamphlets, but i just don't agree it will work.

As in my OP, i think something truly extraterrestrial needs to happen to invoke any kind of significant change.

Admittedly a loaded premise of assumption: "Alien Contact - Why the human race needs it for its very survival."

As others have pointed out, one could as easily surmise, "Alien Contact - Why the human race must avoid it for its very survival.", or, "Alien Contact - Why the human race must remain ignorant of it for its very survival.", the former being the Hawking et al scenario, the latter being the current PTB scenario.

So, assumptions aside, let's consider the premise. DO WE, in fact need, resist, or ignore Alien contact, and regardless of which one is true, are any crucial to the survival (or annihilation) of the human species?

The answer is impossible to ascertain, since, we have no irrefutable confirmation that any of the three scenarios are now, ever have been, or ever will be empirical.

Thus, the question is, as Einstein would say, a delightful "thought experiment" -and nothing more. Unfortunately that means many of us pragmatic/agnostic types must be satisfied with contemplating what-if scenarios and absorbing collective thoughts of others such as is found here in the hallowed halls of ATS.

The OP is a bit presumptuous, IMHO, by declaring such a sweeping consequence that lumps all humans into the same hopeless "we need ET to survive" container. I don't agree with that premise. Not yet, anyway. Not enough information is available to make such a determination.

Besides, I don't think I, individually, or my family, "need" ET to survive. The OP might, and he is entitled to that belief. But it is a bit arrogant and unfair to assume we all do, individually or as a species. For example, consider the corollary: "Humans will NOT be able to survive without Alien contact."

Hogwash. What if we are, in fact alone? Doubtful, I know. But suppose humans are all alone? The OP suggests then we as a species, are doomed to extinction. I don't think so.

We may be stupid, self-absorbed, belligerent, and primitive - but we're all we got. I think we'll work it out... Not without mistakes and other obstacles, but our perseverance, instincts, and gradual evolution will overcome all and, eventually, send our descendents themselves to the stars...

With actual visual sighting's of alien starships in our atmosphere...space alien contact has already been made. Some people will deny the certainty with steadfast denial, others will be clueless, due to the lack of news reports in countries that lack electronic communications; along with political/religious cover ups that are the current rage.

Besides the speculation that the otherworlders are possibly interested in our human activities, such as our interest in relation to nuclear/bio technological warfare research. Which makes me realize that alien starship sightings...bring promise to the human race --- that superluminal [faster than light speeds] technology ---- can be achieved by civilizations that strive too reach for the ability of interstellar space travel.

This very reason, could propel some of our civilizations to strive too achieve the same kind of interstellar starship technology, that the otherworlders possess.

Problem is there's no such thing as aliens. There's demons though. Have you hugged your demon today?
