firstly the styrofoam wasnt just floating around.. its used as insulation mostly so it is probably connected or in contact with something alot heavier than itself.

second if it was floating the other piece would have gone in the opposite direction out of camera view.

third the moon has gravity so things wont be floating for very long.

fourth it wont be exploding all over the cabin, only pieces in direct sunlight would be heated up enough.. and trapped gasses doesnt appear all over styrofoam, most gasses would have leaked out long before this. hence the word trapped.
