Up until recently, I have always been the first to defend California. I mean it's beautiful, you can't ask for better weather, there is so many places to go and see, and the people are wonderf...never mind scratch that last one.

Our government and economy however, well, do I really need to explain the situation there?

So, I am doing what I never thought I would do... I am escaping! Just a few more days and I am saying good bye to California for good.

So come celebrate my soon to be freedom with me.

No!!!! Hopefully you be happy. There are a lot of pros and cons living in California. Thankfully the weather is good. If you're moving to somewhere like Nevada it's beautiful there.

i was born and raised there.

i left 2 years ago, i doubt ill ever go back. they can fall in the ocean for all i care.

i moved to a place where they sell guns in their walmarts...

plus at this point i dont think i trust any place where you have to drive 2 hours to see a cow....

cost of living. idiotic populous. crime. bankrupt. crime. no jobs. crime. regulations/fees/permits....crime.

Good luck. I'm not in a position to move right now. If you get to your destination and find a stowaway—that'll be me....

California sux!!!!

Come to AZ Phoenix. It's hot for a few months but then it's okay.

(I love Cali. It's too expensive.)

Yes, the pros of living in California do exist, but I think at this point the weather is going to be the only thing I'll miss. I am moving to a place where I'll actually have wear a jacket in the winters.

Well, I just might accidentally leave the back of the moving van open just before we head out... If someone was to sneak in there...

I completely understand not being in a position to move. It is hard to get in a position to move in this state. Moving is not cheap.

As for where I am moving to, well, I don't want to say just yet because I don't want ot jinx it, but once I reach my destination and get my computer set up, I will update this thread.

I would move to Az, but my little brother lives there and while I love him dearly, I am not sure I could live in the same state as him without being charged for murder. I don't mind hot weather as long as it isn't humid.

I got thinking we could be recruiting a crazy person.

To begin he / she is leaving California which is packed full of nuts.

We don't know much about the person other than they are a member of ats.

I'm not quite sure why we are fighting over this person.

(op i'm sure you're a good person and i was teasing. good luck. b safe.)

Nothing like the open road and the start of a new adventure

New friends to be made

New experiences to be had

Take my best wishes with you calstorm because if you don't they will surely follow.

what no love?

I have spent the better part of my life in cali, and it is much a part of me as my tared lungs, I have also wanted to leave cali, but then i head to hills and remember why i love it so much. As for the people, there are good/bad everywhere you go, but in cali you have a lot more to choose from.

If i did leave, i couldn't abandon the west coast, although the rising radiation leaves in the pacific are making me rethink my strategy. not to mention the fact there will be a huge seismic event within our lifetime in the west. i happen to be near some volcanoes and im not wanting to end up like those Pompeii fossils.

One of the best things about cali is the complete freedom. Freedom is relative though. so i dont expect everyone to agree with me on this

?????

cali is big, where i grew up u had to watch for rouge cows on the roads they even have those grates that stop the cows from getting to close to the lake.

When i was a kid i remember my buddy and I getting chased by a bull. On the other side of the drainage ditch was a field bigger than a few sport stadiums(parking lot included). We got are courge up and went towards it, it started to trot away so we went closer and faster following it into the field, we then thought that it was scared of us(you got to love the simple mind of a child)

Thinking we were big and tough for scaring a bull away we got braver/stupider and starting hurling rocks at it. It slowed down, but keept trotting. Drawing us out further away from the ditch. When we were about 40 yards away from the ditch, the bull stopped, turned around, did its bull thing, and charged. we made it to the ditch and crossed with about 10 yards between the bull and Us. I learned alot that day and realized what it was like to be scared of nature.

and those cow fences pack quite a punch specially if your standing knee deep in a creek.

and as for the stampeed we started i learned cow tipping is not a real thing, unless we were doing it wrong.

were i was you have to drive two hours to get away from cows

Left California a year ago this month, haven't looked back since. Lived 30 years in Ca never knew how much better it could be elsewhere.

Cheaper housing, lower taxes, nicer people are just some reasons I moved.

As a side note... I actually know my neighbors names now...

Waitaminnit. Didn't you just say you outran that bull? Why would you have to drive two hours to get away from a cow? Oh, never mind....

Yeah, I know there are such places. But it's really the political climate; "our" representatives; the gun laws; the creeping fascism. For God's sake, in some cities you can't even smoke outside your own house.

It's taxing. It's exhausting. It's everything you do either being wrong or not good enough or having a hefty fee attached. It's like living in a gigantic pretentious Starbucks....

Yeah, this is interesting, I also abandoned a more liberal state for a conservative one, although Washington and Oregon are not that bad culturally!! there are more jobs here and it is definitely cheaper - I prefer finding the most laid-back place I can, which is hard to do at the moment.

i stay away from the south and all cities, and like i said freedom is relative, there are plenty of people here that live how they want to without interference. My biggest gripe is, finding a job is harder than making a complete stop at a back street stop sign
