The Feds Let "Whitey" Get Away with Murder - A racially inflammatory headline?

Honestly? I think it was a ploy to get people to think that they were talking about Zimmerman or some other white dude, spark their interest, and then they pulled the bait and switch.

It was a title designed to take advantage of racial issues to get people to read it while also maintaining plausible deniability.

AKA Yellow journalism at its finest.

Headlines like these DO incite violence and do aggravate the current situation of black mobs and individuals feeling justified in beating and killing innocent white people. Interesting how 99.9% of responders fail to respond to the second half of the OP.

Some people are giving other people too much credit for having sense and curiosity. Example, how many times here does a person only read a title and not the story. Not saying the way it was printed was right or wrong but it still can cause issues with many people through lack of investigating the story. All it takes is one person to verbally misrepresent it and watch the fire spread. Better news, in this instance, is many out there don't read much.

First, I am not stupid, I know the guys first name is Whitey.

However, by Time using this headline I think they are fanning the flames of racism.

This gives the black mobs who are routinely targeting white people for beatings and killings in the name of "justice" for something the victims didn't even do, a clear rationale for doing so.

Do you think headlines like this incite racism and the beatings of innocent white victims at the hands of black mobs acting like the KKK of the past?

Maybe it's just me but when i saw the headline of the post, "Whitey Bulgar" popped into my head. Must've been "The Feds" part of the headline that did it.

Now a headline like "Whitey gets away with murder", might bring out a different reaction.

Your whole thread is under the guise of concern over a headline that it seems only you find a racial incitement to violence, but it comes across (IMHO) that you are the one with race fears and problems.

The answer is no.

Everyone in the world apparently was aware that there is a mobster named Whitey Bulger whose trial just ended.

It IS happening, and yes I am scared. When I visited my daughter in Houston a white girl was drug out of a car and beaten up by a black group of people who claimed it was "for Travyon" when she stopped at a light. This was on the local news in Houston. The same day we were not far from the area where it happened.

I grew up in the military in a totally integrated society and for the first time in my life, since Obama didn't punish the Black Panthers for intimidating voters at the polls in 2008, worried that I or my family could be attacked for being white.

Then say ,oh, no those citations were from TIME (not sourced by you) not WND (the only source you listed).

And do you really think that it's that loaded a term? The only white people I know who get offended by being called things like that are pretending because they're a bit racist and want to think it's unfair that black people get to be pissed off at racial epithets. However, without a cultural history of oppression that's a little bit difficult.
