There was a discussion around here some time ago about the validity of snopes and there were a lot of people that claim that snopes has been taken over by the likes of Geroge Soros and is now a cointel operation or something like that.
I thought at the time that it sounded pretty wild but hell, who knows now days.

Like everything online it's a source...you look at source a,b,c and see if they all add up and snopes probably is fine for finding out if walt disney ever played marbles with al capone and it'll be verifiable by 1000 different sources but its when you get to the less factual things like views and stuff not written down or said in front of cameras then its easier to bend the truth so i'd trust snopes for most things but not without a good check just to confirm it
