Wrong. I know many many people who work multiple jobs, have no designer items, no cell phones or trending cars, yet they still barely make due. Sure there are some who live beyond there means, but that hardly paints a picture for the majority.

I honestly think this is being blown way out of proportion...especially by many biased anti-Obama media sources. Now, I'm not saying that I agree with this at all. This is not a solution or by any means going to make anything better, but if you honestly believe that Obama is really telling schools "not to discipline black students for bad behavior..." That's just ridiculous.

I'm sure Obama disciplines his daughters when they misbehave, and I'm sure he would want to be notified by their teachers when his children misbehave, and I'm sure he would want it to be dealt with properly. NOT simply ignored.

Again, I'm not agreeing with this, but I think it's being misinterpreted and made into a bigger deal than it really is.

I will say that discipline/punishment within the school system definitely needs some adjusting. I would do away with expulsion and suspension. I believe such actions only make it easier for students to get behind in the curriculum.

But really people, instead of just taking some biased opinion from some news blog, take a little time to actually think about what's really being said.

If you note the lead up to this paragraph, he's acknowledging the disproportionate challenges faced by African Americans in the educational system; it is a reality. And it seems appropriate to create a task for to analyze this issue and deal with it instead of trying to use our penal system to deal with it later.


Not putting a kid in Special Education unless you can prove that he needs it translates to a "special privilege". OMG -- the Man has his boot on my neck!

I don't think anything I can say can rid you of paranoia. But whatever issues Obama has -- he's raising some great kids. You somehow translate a joke of the first lady that she "feels like a single parent" -- because her husband happens to be POTUS and is quite busy as an example of an absentee parent... wow.

You have a template for black people and it seems your mind must spend a lot of time fitting all the information into that pattern. That seems to be the gist of what I'm learning from the people on this topic right now.
