I'm just curious as to how people are physically capable of maintaining a discussion of nonstop political threads and in such a short time, earn 142,000 points. I think having 100k+ points would be unfathomable to me. I'm a new user (still), but what are the best forums to post in (the most frequent)? This way I could do SOME catching up...

People making good posts can get applauses from mods for points. It is also a side affect from addiction.

Don't think QUANTITY, think QUALITY.

You are more likely to get replies anyway, and it's good form.
Points will just happen naturally.

I've noticed that my points don't always go up when people reply, why does that happen in that case?

Depends on the forum. Some give less, more, or no points.
