Armed robbery of lemon aid stand at 12 with BB gun...good grief Charley Brown whats next, armed robbery of a convenience store with a 9m at 15? If I had done that when I was a kid, I wouldn't get a second chance, it would have been a death sentence. I took a candy bar from a store when I was 5 and mom caught me with it. She went back to the store with the candy bar and then introduced me to what in todays terms could only be described as a sever beating and full blown child abuse. She beat me until she got tired, then beat me some more. Needless to say I never took anything again.

As for this delinquent, I have no doubt, the family will make all kinds of excuses why he did it and say that people just need to be understanding. Now if he was my kid, first off my wife would grab a stick, rod or whatever was handy like a samurai warrior and his reeducation would then begin in earnest. You don't cause the family to lose face.
