Massive solar flare narrowly misses Earth, EMP disaster barely avoided

The earth barely missed taking a massive solar punch in the teeth two weeks ago, an "electromagnetic pulse" so big that it could have knocked out power, cars and iPhones throughout the United States.

Two EMP experts told Secrets that the EMP flashed through earth's typical orbit around the sun about two weeks before the planet got there.

"The world escaped an EMP catastrophe," said Henry Cooper, who lead strategic arms negotiations with the Soviet Union under President Reagan, and who now heads High Frontier, a group pushing for missile defense.

"There had been a near-miss about two weeks ago, a Carrington-class coronal mass ejection crossed the orbit of the Earth and basically just missed us," said Peter Vincent Pry, who served on the Congressional EMP Threat Commission from 2001-2008. He was referring to the 1859 EMP named after astronomer Richard Carrington that melted telegraph lines in Europe and North America.

"We narrowly escape from a Carrington-class disaster

Pry, Cooper, and former CIA Director James Woolsey have been recently demanding that Washington prepare the nation's electric grid for an EMP, either from the sun or an enemy's nuclear bomb. They want the 2,000-3,000 transformers in the grid protected with a high-tech metal box and spares ready to rebuild the system. Woolsey said knocking out just 20 would shut down electricity to parts of the nation "for a long time."

Washington is giving them the cold shoulder, especially the administration.

Hmmm I have a bad habit of hits and misses, I brought forth global warming while trying to save the rain forest and now we are having extreme cool air patterns because I prayed for rain and cooler air from Canada,

It was me. I figured out about the realms stacked on top of realms. Someone was tunneling up to me one of those baseball nukes to me to blow me up and create a new sun here in order to create the next level. i destroyed the gravitational platform that was used to travel the weapon to me. The blast ripped through a couple layers and caused the propane factory to go up also.saturday night they have something else planned but have no idea what it will be yet. or t could just have been a solar flare.

With the way the sun has been popping off CME's like a pop rocket during this active phase it's having. I'm suprised we haven't been blasted yet. Though from hine site they've been getting closer and closer....

I can definately understand why! There's a lot of information out there about CME's and the effects it has on Biology here on Earth.

So for at least 3-4 months I've been keeping an eye out to hear more news about them. It's really interesting to me.

A CME is not an EMP.

There was no "Carrington-class" coronal mass ejection two weeks ago. While there are CME on a regular basis and sometimes they encounter Earth (pretty much always crossing Earth's orbit), the Sun has been very quiet. There has not even been an M class Solar flare this month.


Sensationalist nonsense but there is always a threat of a major geomagnetic event.

There are a number of bodies involved, although not all mentioned in the link. The figure of $2 billion mentioned to protect the US grid is probably a bit conservative, and it would do nothing for communications in space or on the ground, with a cost likely in the $trillions. But at least all the groups are getting together in a cohesive way, and it's something that unfortunately, and by its nature, is not going to happen overnight.

1) There was no "Carrington class" CME two weeks ago.
2) Nothing "narrowly missed Earth" two weeks ago.
3) CMEs are not EMPs
4) Geomagnetic storms do not affect small electronic devices like iPhones or cars.

The article is sensationalistic nonsense in every aspect expect that a major geomagentic event could be very problematic.
