ATS Deployed

I've debated letting anyone know that I will be deploying to Afghanistan VERY soon. While most people here do not know who I really am, many of you do know what I do. I won't reveal unit or specific timeline, but suffice to say that it will be a 9 month long deployment.

I'm telling you this because I care about ATS and many of its members. You are my friends and some I consider family. I don't know how much access I will have to the internet while down range. But I do intend to document my experiences, my interactions with the people, parts of my mission profile so long as it isn't classified, and of course pictures and video.


I don't want to sell the war to you. I don't want anyone to change their opinion of the mission in Afghanistan. I just want to tell the story from my own unique perspective.

I'm not leaving today. But it will be very soon. And if I don't have access, it will be a long deployment without you.

The Mujahideen will try to put a 7.62 into your butt or an IED in your truck all the time, but I figure you know that already.

And most importantly from our perspective: Don't forget your helmet cam. Alone the scenery in this country is breathtakingly beautiful.

Don't be getting yourself killed. There is no internet connecting afterlife with ATS that I know of. Be waiting to see an occasional post from you on the site..
