Remember when people cared about the Earth? Really cared? People who care about the Earth are now viewed with derision and suspicion. Environmentalists, tree huggers, weirdos.
Remember when people lived in multi-generational homes? Took care of grandma and grandpa until the end? Living on their property and building a new structure when it was needed. Now, gramma starts acting funny and - boom - it's nursing home for you. No time, no money, no patience for grammie.
Remember starving children in Africa, Ethiopia? Remember when people cared about them? Had fundraisers? Then, apartheid - whole peoples being slaughtered, no fundraisers, no penny cups.
Now we've got Sandy Hook noone seemed to care about the dead kids or the mental health issue, it's all about saving our gunz and this Zimmerman nonsense, an unarmed child was shot dead and it's all about race and "thugs".
Turn on Disney channel and see how young girls are being sexualized. Gramma has a stripper pole, mom has fake breasts and we expect our daughters to turn out like victorian ladies?
Talk of gay marriage prompts GOP to start talking about sex with animals. ANIMALS? The party of starchy white values talking about beastiality as if they don't know the difference between an apple and an orange?
I am beginning to believe that we are being desensitized to a point where we have a populace that doesn't value life, even our own offspring. It's the breaking down of taboos and making the abnormal into what's "normal".
That's my rambly .02 worth of conspiracy.

No, I don't think this level of apathy is being taught to us intentionally. I think it's just one of those unfortunate side-effects of life.

I think between generations and time periods, there have always been a mix of apathetic people, violent people, and compassionate people. How those ratios change over time, if they do at all, is anybody's guess. Hard times make hard people though, I agree with that.

Expect to hear from those who think we're living in the most peaceful times Earth has ever seen (I'm not one of them, but they're out there!) Think back to days when you had to take the law into your own hands and there was no one to stop your enemies from beheading you with a broad sword etc; or when you had to have a wild west shootout just to settle a problem.

There is law and order, or at least the guise of it, in modern times.

I think from the perspective of omniscience, there isn't much that is different nowadays than in the history of the human race. We are still serfs and lords. Some care, some don't etc. Grandma is still cared for and respected in some households, while in others she is pushed into a nursing home if the family can afford it.

There have always been violent movies, video games, comic books, stories passed down from father to son, and the inappropriate and disgusting objectification of women etc.

I just don't see an agenda or a conspiracy here--just the same old group of people who can't be bothered to care about someone other than themselves. How do we uproot that one?

I sort of agree with where you`re coming from but the points you make are based on the propaganda we`re being force fed.

I truly believe that we are as violent and as peaceful as we have ever been.

The reason people pick up on the violence is that is what is put on the news.

There is alot more peace in the world than violence, it just isn't reported.

The advance in social media and networking means we are more AWARE of violence, but it doesnt mean it is any more frequent than 100 years ago.

A good example would be recently there was a Dog attack here in the UK which killed a little girl

In the media over the next month or so there were more reports of dog attacks.

My friend turned to me and said "why are dogs suddenly attacking people?

To which I explained they wernt "suddenly" doing it, it has always been that way, it is just being reported more due to being "flavour of the month"

Of-course we are and its by design.

Part of it is the intentional dehumanization of our so called enemies. The US has done that throughout history: the Japanese were made to resemble cockroaches or beetles, Koreans were "zipper heads", Vietnamese were "gooks" and the Moslems, forget about it.

But now its also the general population. Now we're zombies or soon will be when the Rothschilds finally implode the worldwide economy and the masses are starving and homeless.

Why? Well, because theyve told us, theres allegedly too many people. Nothing could be further from the truth but when has the truth ever stopped them.

Almost everything has elements of propaganda from video games to movies and TV shows.

Its ironic if you think about it. Our government glorifies killers such as Chris Kyle and endless warfare but then strips us of our rights when people act out violently...

I have noticed that since the reactionary social changes that began in the late 50s into the 60s, things have been progressing and escalating. I grew up in the 70s and remember when the movie "Bad News Bears" came out, I even when to the movie theater to see it. I was around the same age as the kids in the movie at that time. The standards were loosening up in music and movies and it soon became common place in the culture. I remember how the adults thought it was so "cute" to see these kids swearing. Well, it wasn't long after that movie came out when the elementary school playground was full of swearing. Of course, we also played "'n-word' pile" and "smear the queer" games back then, which you'd never even hear referenced theses days.

Then, shortly after I got out of high school in the 80s, hip hop and rap started to become popular, and the "gangsta" subculture began appearing in movies and T.V. programs. This was a trend I wasn't a part of, but I could see how it would increasing spread through the younger white kids in my community with every movie and album that came out. The the cause and effect was very evident.

Every time the media jumped on the latest popular trends (for profits of course) the social morals headed in that direction. It is now to the point that nothing is shocking or out of the question anymore. Shock jocks have been out done by things like "Two Girls, One Cup". I don't know if there are too many social taboos left to exploit anymore, even my sick imagination is undoubtedly far behind the current trends.

So, based on my experiences during my lifetime, I'd say that, yes, we are being systematically desensitized to all of the previously amoral behaviors. Media is mostly to blame in my opinion, but probably not due to some communist plot, but rather an effort to exploit the continued reaction against what was the excepted "norm" for so many years before the late 1950s, which was about the time we went for the modern period of history into the post modern era.

Just an off the cuff thought...

Any time you have an over abundance of a resource, the value of that resource is lessened. When there was only 2-3 billion people on the planet, everyone was very valuable...now with 7 billion people, we have lost our appreciation of the individual resources.

When there was only one baker in town, everyone needed and loved that baker...now there are 20 bakers...if a town loses one...so what...

Sorry...I just think that is the way it is.

Remember when people cared about the Earth? Really cared?

Which decade was this?

Remember when people lived in multi-generational homes? Took care of grandma and grandpa until the end?

Remember when very few people made it past the age of 60? Our life expectancy has just about doubled in the last 100 years and so has the amount of care required for the elderly. Not saying that a lack of care doesn't occur, but having to use a pully to put your grand mother in a bathtub every day is horrible for her and you. Especially when she is actually very guilty about you taking the time to do it.

Remember starving children in Africa, Ethiopia? Remember when people cared about them? Had fundraisers?

I remember a bunch of entertainers spending a week wearing red noses and barely making enough money to cover the daily interest owed by these countries. Interestingly, I think debt relief is at an all time high in the last ten years.

I suspect part of what you're perhaps experiencing is waking up a lil? Taking notice of all these things? The world isn't constant, things change ... some things stay the same, some things change, and some things are difficult to understand.

Some things like life expectancy and the internet are genuinely new and they are changing our lives ... the arguments about 'shocking material' though have been around since Romans tried to renact Beauty and the Beast using 300kg animals and criminals in the public space. Oddly enough, the arguments persons had about Roman politicians are almost exactly the same discussion we have now about politicians ...

I think it's a bit hard to desensitize a world that has been doing these things for 11, 000 years. If anything I think we seem to think a lot more changes in 50 or 200 years than actually does.

Environmentalists are telling us God does not care for us and we are
running out of energy so we must recycle and spend our time to serve
them more and more.

This is all brought about by the death of ether theory by WWII and now
in Illuminati hands to hide and to promote any garbage they can.

I found this that seems a primer on ether theory.
The author sees UFOs as a threat to ether theory that he attributes to many
mysteries of today if not the reasons for the unhappy returns on our labors.

WIth the possible exception of tweens (I hate that word, I am angry with myself but it does work) dressing like sluts, I think all of these things have actually gotten far better in the last 100 years or so. Really every other point you've made is easily refuted. I'm glad these thing bother you, and that you want to see more change in the right direction, but I don't think we've regressed.
