Am I the only twisted one that like Dexter here?

Not at all, but I've found this latest season to be crap, kinda like the last, and I'm basically waiting it out til the end cause the wife still loves it.

Same with BSG 2.0 was great up until the writers all started huffing glue in the last season.

Well I don't have cable. So when I want to watch a show aired on cable - I have to find it online.

Over the weekend we did a 'The Walking Dead' marathon and caught up on all three seasons. I'm hooked! I can't wait for October and Season 4 so start.

Then we watched 'Falling Skies' which I also liked. Actually, I prefer the alien show, but everyone else in the family liked the Zombie show better. Either way - they are still both 'end of the world' scenarios. The family got a huge kick out of me referring to the shows as 'doom porn', which I picked up here on ATS.

I do believe that the next show I shall watch online, will be 'Continuum'. As many people have recommended it on this thread.

S&F OP. I needed some recommendations on which series the family would be marathon(ing) this coming weekend!
We tried American Horror Story, but eh'... didn't care for it...

Falling Skies ( Sci-fi)
Continuum ( Sci-fi)
Suits (Legal Drama)
Boardwalk Empire ( Period Drama 1920's)

Those are the ones off the top of my head right now.

The writers of BSG 2.0 had to rush the end, because the producers thought it was costing too much. They allowed the writers half a season to finish what would have needed 2 or 3 more seasons...
Still, it was (is) an incredible show!!!

Anybody mention The Following? First season is complete, and I was really caught up in it. At least, so far.

I tend to lose interest. I've abandoned Game of Thrones for example.

The Following was excellent. I'll add my recommendation to that. Mostly because you never knew what was going to happen. Would constantly surprise you. (and really dark for network TV)...

Hi. I doubt my list of favorites would help you much, but thought I would list a few anyway just in case somebody else might be interested in checking one or two out. Starting with my very favorite, but in no particular order after that one is;

1. The Tudors--I found this very very good, could not stop watching, and felt sad when it ended.
2. The Forsyte saga--also very good
3. Borgia-very good
4 Doc Martin--fun
5. Hotel Babylon--fun
6. Monarch of the Glen--for fun

I've been watching a lot of British movies/tv lately because it seems their writing has improved dramatically compared to our own, which seems to have become all more of the same.. but less interesting.
I also enjoy The Twilight Zone (Netflix), and Alfred Hitchcock.

If you watch nothing else on my list it would please me immensely if you give The Tudors a shot

PS-Most of these (if not all, I watched on Netflix)

Love Doc Martin - and there's a detective type show on PBS called Endeavour I believe, set I think in the 60s. It's pretty good. There's been a couple BBC series (sort of detective/police work) that I've seen that are actually excellent writing and acting.

You got The Walking Dead and Breaking Bad covered.... what about Dexter?
When i first saw Dex i ended up watching the first four seasons straight in two days. awesome show . Been watching Ray Donaven only three episodes in but Liev Shrieber and Jon Voight are great.

True Blood though very good its not for everyone. Same with Spartacus. Lots and lots of gayness in both shows makes me uncomfortable. Pretty graphic too. Basically never picked Spartacus back up after second season cuz of it. In true blood even though initially Lafayette was my favorite character in the show he seems to have gotten significantly gayer as the show has gone on. Like i said not for every one but they are very good shows regardless.

I agree with the first two responses! I would like to add that a lot of anime is very conspiracy oriented, block out that it is animation and you realize that much of that presented is the very same stuff we read about on here.

This is where I go to catch up on shows and sometimes even get ahead.

Its a bit older, maybe you've already been there/done that, but at the time I had skipped it, and now happily about midway through over 100 episodes: Alias.

I'm very selective and sporadic with my Tv show watching (haven't had one on in a few weeks due to 90 hour work weeks for a spell there), but otherwise, very similar in show list and watching style/time.

Others i've jumped on, but are 1st/2nd season: falling skies, defiance, and a show based on, what I feel is one of Steven King's top 2: Under the Dome.

Might I also suggest Pillars of the Earth. It was short-series with two seasons but really good!

Also the Tudors and Borgias are pretty decent.

I am looking forward to The White Queen and Black Sails that are coming out soon.
