Just created an account, but definitely not new to the website. Figured I might as well start adding some input, since I've spent so many hours here reading up on various things. I live in Alaska, and probably my biggest fascination is with cryptozoology, namely bigfoot and sasquatch.

I look forward to talking with everyone.

Later

Welcome, Aduley! I don't know anything about BigFoot so I will be interested in your posts!

Welcome to the family! Glad you decided to join in the discussion. Alaska would be a prime location for such a creature, given the vastness and isolation.

Welcome aduley. Is there a difference between the two?

Yes, I have read some cool stories of sightings even on the outskirts of Anchorage which is the biggest city here. I think Alaska is a great location for them, since there is soooooo much area that is just empty of people.

And there is also plenty of food for them to eat as well. Although I have never seen one, I am positive they are out there and it would be awesome to actually get a glimpse of one.

I still haven't made up my mind if they are herbivores or omnivores yet though.

Hi matey

Welcome to the asylum.

I don't believe in bigfoot so I'll be interested to see what you've got to offer

Beware of female members, most of them are men!

No problem... I think "Sasquatch" is the name Native Americans gave to the same creature they used to see before we were even here. An interesting part of the "legend". They have the same description in their lore; gives more credence to the stories people tell in the modern era.

I have met Bear in the woods, thats enough for me.

Lol thanks for the warning. I have never personally seen bigfoot, and I will be honest, I am frustrated with the lack of evidence. For the most part, every video of bigfoot I have seen is garbage. I know these are strong words, but that is how I feel.

No one can seem to get any DNA and never a corpse. The only thing that stops me from dismissing it altogether is people I have spoken to in real life. They have told me about footprints they have seen that are spot on to those you might see on television. This is from a guy who lived in a remote cabin in the woods of Oregon.

When I was younger, a friend of my father also told me about a bigfoot he saw while out hunting in the mountains of Montana, and he told me about the unbelievably bad stench he smelled. These guys have nothing to gain by the way.

So it has always been one of the things that I love reading about. In a way I want someone to prove that they exist, but on the other hand, it would be better for the bigfoot to remain hidden I think.

Yep your right intrptr, that is what the Native Americans called them. At least that is what I was taught. Anyway, it is just too much of a coincidence that nearly every culture around the world all speak of a "hairy man" that lives in the wild.

I believe even Teddy Roosevelt spoke of seeing a sasquatch during one of his hunting trips.

Sorry for the delay. I think I remember something about that. Thanks for the reminder.

Same here. Its frustrating that the sure evidence is elusive about this thing. I think I remember the natives included in their tale that this "being" was a spirit? Maybe I am wrong. It would explain why people can't find one for real.

If it was a spirit of some sort, why does it stink so bad? If its real why not jump in a river once in a while? All animals groom and or bathe themselves. Hard to figure...

Edit to add: By the way, since a Mod hasn't done it yet (they are pretty busy here), heres a post about how to do stuff here...

Honestly, the spirit thing would explain a few things. Their behavior is strange. It's almost like they have a sixth sense or something. The only problem with them being spirit is that they leave footprints and they can interact with physical things. But I guess angels and demons in the bible could too.

Well I kind of have a hunch about this. A friend of mine, shared his story about seeing one, and it didn't stink. But however, he things it was a younger one, so perhaps the older they get the stinkier they get.

Just a thought. Oh and thanks for that link intrptr, that was just what I needed. BBCode is very similar to HTML which I am familiar with.

Hi and thank you Night Star. Yes that is a very interesting video. It looks to me, from what I have found is that the government and/or the army absolutely know about it.

I believe it is Edwards Air Force Base in California that has a lot of UFO and bigfoot activity. Although I don't know how they stay hidden in the drier more sparse regions of the world
