Food can be found simply by fishing. And it doesn't take much to boil seawater and collect the steam for drinking, not to mention gathering rain water or using the natural buoyancy of water in a barrel and letting it drag behind/beneath the boat until its ready to be used. You can also follow the coasts and just make the crossing at the closest point

The Giants and their story can be explained with another way. I do not believe they were actually a human race but i do believe their truth can be found in the Greek mythology.

According to the ancient Greek "mythology" the giants were huge and fearful creatures. We are reading about them in the books of Hesiodus. They were sons of Earth and Sky and although they had human shape they were enormous and powerful. Their body was scaliness and it ended on a blizzard's tail. They had long and bushy hairs and beard and on their hairy hands they were keeping javelins. They were mortals( they could be killed if a god and a human were attacking them at the same time) and they lived on west shores of the Ocean. The ancient Greeks was calling Ocean the Sea as a whole. Since they mention about the west sides of the Ocean they were talking either for Spain and Maroco or for America.

Now the idea of believing or not to what the Greek mythology says is another topic and it needs days of discussion. However, if we leave for a little bit the Greek mythology aside and we see the mythologies of the other civilizations around the globe, we can understand that in the ancient times people were seeing those giants as we can find them in almost all the ancient mythologies.


So basically, either all the ancients had the same imagination and created the same myths although they were leaving thousands of kilometers away from each other or the school and modern historians did not taught us the truth about the "mythology". Why would they hide the truth from us? That is a long story.

Except they don't just exist in mythology anymore. Let's face it, the Giant in the original post was estimated at about 8ft. which isn't even the tallest person confirmed to have existed.

I think this is evidence that the gene for Giants is spread throughout the world's population and relates to a time in pre-history in which this was almost necessary for survival among the larger foragers and predators of the time. Giant men would have likely gotten more food, been stronger and as such, procreated more often then their smaller counter parts.

Some of these animals existed until just a few thousand years ago.

There was a blog I read recently (maybe in the past year) over at the Huffington Post. They have a section there titled "weird news". Anyway, this blogger wrote about the strange things he has encountered in his life as he traveled the world. I wish I could remember this blogger's name or find the story, but I am sorry I cannot (and I tried searching already).

But, if I recall correctly, his story was that he was on some sort of an archeological expedition deep in the Amazon (I think) and inside a cave, they discovered a giant frozen cyclops. He claims the government was notified of the discovery and they were ordered to ignore it and dynamite the entrance to the cave so that no one would be able to locate the giant cyclops ever again.

LOL It was quite a story and I wish I could remember the blogger's name. He had a website of his own and stuff. He was a new age type of guru or something if memory serves me correctly.

That history remnds me of the Military Anti Alien Bases history... lol. Anyway,if that story is real it's possible that the military/governement would want to encover that in order to prevent public panic. Imagine the reaction if people knew they could be taken by force by a giant alien race and the governement could do nothing?

I would be terrified.
