I don't see why this is such a big deal. So they dropped bit of inert ordinance in the sea, in >50 meters of water, away from the reef. And are now going to recover them. Big whoop.

Also I'm betting everyone in this thread complaining about this has never actually been to the great barrier reef... so there's that.
