What is good is that some of you posters in this thread really love monkeys, which is a good thing, but, I shall see you in one year when the times will be one hundred times worse than it is today. They say that love is unconditional of any external factor, but time will check this thread. And we shall see then. Oh and...one more thing,if you want to see who your friends are open a thread give the right subject and voila, here we are....

I just hope your thread was entirely a misguided & pitiful rant against a certain member and that you actually don't really feel this way about primates? I'm sure you don't really.. Otherwise I really do despair of the human race

Dear Good God in Heaven!!!!
Just wasted 1 hour of my life reading all ten pages.

To the OP:
Were you ever hurt/ attacked by a monkey? Is that where this hatred is coming from?

(My cat scratches the hell out of me every time I try to give her a bath, but I still love her. I just take her to the pet salon if I can't handle it and let them do the rest.)

If this is not some sort of 'monkey phobia' then what is it?

Are you actually trying to attack an ATS user in written form?

I find that very immature. And I am not sure it is allowed, and I don't think this thread should be here anymore, in that case the whole thread is inappropriate.

Good on you Boymonkey!!!!
I don't know you, but after reading all these pages, including the ones about her art, I think I would really like you in real life!

OK... apologies to the OP. I was so moved by this thread that I had to look into what made this issue arise...And, what I found....

Boymonkey, surely you realise it must take a lot of guts to post one's artwork here? I have to say that if I was piequal3 I would have been gutted at your comments.. Obviously art is such a personal preference.... But was there really any need to be quite so scathing on that thread...?

Piequal3 I don't agree with the way you've gone about this but I see now why you were so angry... But having said that, posting your own art on ATS, you have to take the rough with the smooth you know?

Oh for god's sake, let's just agree that primates rock, whatever

You talk as if you know her. While there was probably a lot of truth in your rant, it was harder then what I would have written. Enough people here have read enough of her threads and seen the artwork to realize that we have a hopeless romantic among us who doesn't fully understand what romance is yet. She ( I hope) is trying to get a grip on it by writing about it. That's the same thing I used to do a long time ago. Listen to enough Bernie Taupin interviews and you'll see that he did it too. He wrote "Your Song" when he was still a virgin. Fake it till you make it, that sort of thing. But since this poster is almost obviously a female who has been hurt in her life, badly more than likely, she feels that there is no way on Gods green earth that she will ever stoop to a mans level, have a mature relationship with him and allow a realistic understanding of what love and romance is.

If that ever happens, it's going to be because the man is going to have to pull her out of whatever societal constraints she's in, sweep her up Officer and a Gentleman style and carry her off into her avatar. Again, more unrealistic expectations, that, if a man can't live up to.....well.............he's no better than a damn ape. I'm sure she's broken more than one heart in her lifetime by doing this sort of thing, all the while not telling anyone squat because, again, the man is going to have to go to unrealistic lengths, like reading her damn mind, in order to pull her out of whatever corner she's painted herself into. She knows what she wants, but doesn't know how to go about getting it. And when she tries, it's socially unacceptable. Don't hate the player, hate the game.

But I digress, her OP was an analogy towards men. That much is obvious. The reasons why are speculative but not hard to figure out.

Much like her IRL I would imagine.

Just for the record, I like monkeys. I think they're cool.

This person is a "her"? I'd never have guessed it.

Either way, s/he's a very angry person . It must be very exhausting to have so much anger inside.

Just sayin'.

I think pie and Monkey need to relax, understand that neither of them have done good for the other and walk away from these threads and take a deep breath and just relax.

Really this is just two people hurt over comments they made to each other over a painting that although strange, was not all that bad, depends on your taste in art.

Now they both got all of you sucked into a flaming war

These two threads remind me of a Jerry Springer show, and although the dark wolf in me finds this entertaining, the white wolf in me howls for the feelings of both posters.

*looks in coffee cup and smiles*

I chose to feed my white wolf.

May spirit bless you both with the wisdom to see what you both have done to each other.

*wanders off to greener pastures to howl in the moonlight*

This was thread that the OP needed to have because it finally revealed without any doubt the true nature within. If in future you see the OP post threads, then be aware for every instance where you read a sentence or title where the word LOVE is used; replace it with HATE and you will understand what is truly being said.

But most people have worked this out, the OP has nearly 200 hundred post replies and only 2 stars and 2 flags in their OP, those stats say it all.

Hi Taupin,

Thank you for well thought out words and i can understand exactly what you are underlining.

I will not even pretend that i know the person in question because that would be more than pretentious, however, in the past, other members, myself included have made kind remarks or constructive positive/negative comments about his/her artwork and also contributed to threads where the person in question has also commented.

In general the person in question always starts off nice and friendly and rapidly turns the situation around into a holier than thou situation, giving out morality lessons left, right and center... and i can understand fully how some people might easily become vexed!

Before writing that post i also stated the following : (My sincerest apologies to you if you have some kind of disorder). Maybe i should have added please disregard this post if this is the case?

I really like your expression 'in order to pull her out of whatever corner she's painted herself into"...If the person in question REALLY has had a personal issue in life then the only thing i would suggest to that person is to seek professional help and guidance "RL" instead of venting his/hers hate and frustration under the pretext of love on a forum such as ATS and upsetting members who might not always appreciate certain comments from the person in question which create a conflictual atmosphere in threads eventually leading to them being removed...

I actively encourage that person to continue with his/her painting of love topics if this can provide in some way peace of mind, comfort and shelter from the world that he/she is or might be hiding from, but i also encourage that person to seek a real life out of that bubble in order to create a more positive outlook towards him/her self and others.

All i can say is that the person in question DID NOT react to my post, but continued to use the higher than thou attitude throughout the whole of this thread towards other posters instead of responding in a civilised and mature manner.

I do not regret whatsoever writing those words which i think needed to be said.

This is the last time i am going to talk about the person in question as i would really like to see people contributing to the "positive" primate part of the topic which has made this thread finally quite enjoyable to read.

Kindest respects

Rodinus

Sure but do you want me to tell fibs? to say "Its great"?
No I will not do that.
If someone built a wall and it was poorly built you would say so? or say ahhh its a great wall.?
I offered a few tips but it wasn't received well.
Anyhow I have enjoyed this thread and I want to thank the OP for creating it.

I'm glad you were the first person to reply to this thread. I love all animals, or better yet...living things. Except spiders of course. I don't always hate them. But when I do, I choose Dos Equis.

Your reply made me laugh because a neighbour of mine once built the most ugly breezeblock wall which was visible from my garden and completely ruined the aesthetics. I told him in no uncertain terms that it was horrific and that if I had access to a crane and a wrecking ball then I would have quite happily flattened it...

But that was a wall, not something as personal to someone as their art!

My mother has always said that if you can't say something nice then don't say anything at all... But I understand you're a no-nonsense Manc and of course piequal3 put herself out there for acclaim or criticism...

Yeah, agreed, this has been a wonderful thread!

Back to Apes and such here is an interesting video about chimps working together.

I read somewhere that a Chimp is like a 4 year old intelligence wise.

Oh wow! The way the chimp kept taking the keeper's hand ''come along then, don't just stand there, help me out here''!

In the past I've worked alongside various species of primates and they never cease to astonish me! I wouldn't be surprised if they do have the intelligence of a 4 year old, quite frankly in my experience chimps in particular are smarter than a lot of people I know

I agree. I hope s/he finds what they're looking for so they don't have to be so angry all the time. Writing helped me bridge that gap all those years ago, maybe his/her paintings can do the same. We all have our methods, but we all have to pull ourselves out that swamp. No one can do it for us.
