What an insightful post.

Thanks OP for sharing something that I only hope the rest of the world starts to understand, if more people thought like you this world would be a much better place, regardless of color, race, religion, or any other differences.

Starred and flagged.

And hugs too.

Thank you for having the courage and determination to make this thread. I am sure it was not easy to be so honest and open given your family's current views. Your voice really is a breath of fresh air.

Unfortunately, you will probably receive much ridicule for looking at things objectively and speaking the truth. But do not despair: many people out there share your views and support you in your effort to expose truth.

Your making a gross assumption here. And I would posit that has nothing to do with why there hasn't been any rioting. And I have never heard of your theory.

Well the current system is fvcked. Once the mellinnials take control of America (if America as we know it exist) then racism will face a sharp decline in further generations. But the older generations of Americans have too much racial tension built up. Basically we wait for the older generations to die off. But there are many things that could happen between now and when the mellinnials take over (a lot of negative things)

The majority of the attacks on me toward was the discussion of slavery, or the little that they knew about it.

I briefly mentioned slavery in the OP and it is truly ridiculous to me how blacks today feel that their 'issues' are directly related to slavery.

No one today was alive during that period, so there is no direct correlation to anyone black nor white with it. And no white person owes any apology to any black person for slavery.

This is also something that is absurd to me, which is why I don't understand white guilt.

i feel its because you've distanced your self from your people because of your emotions so now your are blind to what happened and the ramifications that MANY still deal with...its not something most will understand bu it is real none the less

That is because you are white. Whites in America never faced any hardship or were subject to poverty because of there skin color like blacks Hispanics and native Americans (mostly because they where the ones who were subjecting people to poverty and discrimination due to their skin color) whites seem to be oblivious to other parts of society view them.

Crap! This guy knows our (white's) secret! Heck, just the other day, my bank called me and said that I was late on my credit card payment.

I told them... I said, "Hey buddy, I understand that I am late because I'm irresponsible and forgetful... but I'm white! Can't we make this late charge go away?" and they took the late fee away and apologized for any inconvenience and even took away the due payment because of white privilege.

Funny enough, I was late to work this morning. My Boss came up to me and asked why I was late. I said that I was late because I forget where I put my car keys, plus I was watching a late-late show last night. I said, "Boss... aren't you forgetting something?" to which he replied, "What?"... and I said, "I'm white! You can't write me up for being late!!"... and we both laughed and gave each other a high-five and then played the air guitar.

Wow, I'm not even American and I know this statement is totally false! There may have been argument when America was under British rule, I think everyone lived a great life or so its documented (such as when a visit to Britain prompted the total disbelief in the American pilgrams that people in Britain, the head of a vast empire, lived so poorly!), but certainly in the last 100 years to my knowledge, this statement is totally false.

Obviously OP was referring to her black community. The one she lives in. She was referring to people she has contact with...

How can she be ostracized from the entire Black community ????

Does the entire black community know her or have one mind?...does every black person on a planet feel that Zimmerman is guilty of murder...?

I don't think they do. Therefore my point stands.

I live around alot of blacks, in fact, Im the only white guy in my subdivision. I also work with and have black clients at work. And I can tell you that every one of them is angry the Zimm got off. Does that mean the ALL blacks feel that way, no. But I think MOST do. And I think thats what the OP was getting at with the black community remark. At home and work I wouldnt even start or participate in conversations about this case beacuse it was so racially charged.

I'm aware that life itself is a constant battle, but to have to battle your family and surrounding culture just makes things so much harder. For a moment i could have swore you were describing working class attitudes to education/life.

Though in light of your troubles, i feel sorry for those who believe that they should just accept regular jobs, not bother to use proper english, not associate with people of other races but last of all that they were a victim of the world as soon as they left the womb.

Im english and i hate to see black americans parading themselves as victims when they now have the same opportunities as everyone else - Albeit, a few decades late.

Your English so you don't how court systems and prison systems are set up against blacks. Or how bad racial profiling is in America. And the media won't tell you about that. This isn't the first time police have gunned down a innocent black person. That's why black people never trust police. You don't see how the media portrays all black people as uneducated animalistic thugs.

It's not an assumption. TM had liver damage and brain damage consistent with the heavy use of *** which is the other 1/3 if the sizzer.

I'm a white dude and I even know that.

If you have a personal story to share about the court and prison system, why don't you share it with us?

George Zimmerman is hispanic or he considers himself to be. His mom is mostly hispanic decent. People need to see past his last name. At the very least he is White-Hispanic.

People need to do searches on both parties. Look up the REAL Trayvon Martin and you might not like what you see. Look up the REAL George Zimmerman and see what you find.

I have, and I don't like either of them.

The truth about this situation and the characters involved lie somewhere in-between. The gun rights advocates and the black community spokespeople are both exploiting the situation for political gain to support their individual agendas. This is both sad and wrong and we see this echoed on ATS.

It really dosent matter what kind of person he was. He was doing nothing wrong and was killed for no reason. By your logic it's okay to gun down any black teen who has used or experimented with drugs.
