It was self defense.

That's why he was found not guilty, in addition to not enough evidence to prove otherwise.

the defense proved that GZ lost sight of TM and that at the time he was not following. he did this with jeantel, four minutes passed before the fight started after the 911 call. TM had to come back to the side walk and jeantel said that he said he was going back.

the prosecution even concided that TM hit him first, when he came back.

It will always be legal to defend yourself here in Florida. I have always believed George was attacked by Martin but I understand others disagree.

The fact remains George wasn't a threat while he was on his back and Martin was the attacker while sitting on his chest hitting him.



The law says at that point you can defend with deadly force.

He might have a valid case against some rather...Ahem...highly placed people on that civil suit issue. After all, some comments really did cross into defamation and said with malice under the circumstances. I'm thinking about statements at multiple levels on up at the start and fed the atmosphere that led into this trial.

If he doesn't have some screw ball go postal on him, he will get a good series of settlements, I'm guessing.

So, you have ignored all the trial evidence and testimony, and all the 300+ pages of discussion? The dispatcher did NOT "specifically tell" him anything, and CANNOT do so. He even stated that he could understand why Zimmerman might construe his words as a recommendation to actually follow. Please, pay attention, before posting.

So a 17 year old kid starts "fighting" you and you think it is just to pull out your pistol and shoot him through the heart? Then search his body, position it, and then call the police?

Of course they are cheering for the verdict of not guilty. That means they are happy that George Zimmerman wasn't charged with killing Trayvon, Which he DID. He's part of the neighborhood watch, not a cop. He shouldn't of ever pulled out that pistol. He is flat out guilty, and now he's got some bad karma "stalking behind him" for the rest of his days, however long that will be

Teens are killing people and getting kill all the time in our country, yes is sad that we have come to this way of life, but in my neck of the woods you trust nobody, because even an innocent looking teen can take your life away.

Something I think many are overlooking here is that Zimmerman will have to live the rest of his life knowing he killed someone. Right or wrong, he is going to second guess his actions and feel the full weight of burden of having killed a 17 year old kid for the rest of his life. This is nothing to sluff off, and although it is not a prison sentence, it is a life long sentence of anguish to varying degrees. To those who have had the misfortune of having to kill, I am sure they will understand. To those who have never had to, feel blessed.

One should be able to defend himself, to the death.

This verdict restores my faith in our judicial system.

It you're unsure whether or not justice was served, then you need to take some time and watch the defense team's closing arguments.

I don't think it was about race but I also don't believe just because your opinion agrees with the Jury's opinion it does not make anyone correct. Just correct that your opinion agrees.

You wanna tell me how it was Righteous for him to defend himself from punches with a bullet through Trayvon's heart? Doesn't make much sense to me. Zimmerman could've easily subdued Trayvon with his hands if he had to.

I agree with you and it's a sad reality. A lot of people seem to just not care for whatever reason. They either go crazy or they join some gang they believe gives them power and glory and they'll kill anyone without question. American has a lot of problems we need to fix. Not sweep under the rug like it'll go away.
