I'll give you that. It's possible that Martin might have been have whip him. But does that really justify shooting him? If he was that scared why not just run? I guess a gat really is a man best friend.

edit on 14-7-2013 by RealTruthSeeker because: (no reason given)

He couldn't run. The voice on the 911 call was ZIMMERMAN, screaming for help as he was being pummeled by Martin (The evidence all points to this). All we have after that, is Zimmermans own testimony that it wasn't until Martin reached for his gun that he shot him.

The problem here is, there is no evidence that Zimmerman just walked up to Trayvon and stuck a gun in his face. Or that Zimmerman threatened Trayvon before anything started. Unless Zimmerman was threatening Martin directly, there was no justification for Martin to attack him just because he was following him.

True and noone knows that BUT ZIMMERMAN!

Well duh. Why do you think he was not guilty? No evidence to point to the narrative the prosecution was painting, the wannabe cop accosting the innocent kid scenario.

I wasnt there so i dont know who started the fight. How many times has someone started a fight in a bar and got the worst end of the deal? Oh this guy looks terrible guess that means the other guy swung first . Going by your logic the person who took the beating is always the innocent one.

I agree with the verdict. But only 3 people know what happened that night for a fact God (if you believe in it) Martin, and Zimmerman. No one else knows. I dont know if Zimmerman swung at Martin or pushed him etc first and you dont either.

Zimmerman is innocent cause there was no evidence to contradict his story. That however doesn't mean he didnt attack first and lie about it. NO ONE but he knows that and that is a FACT.

None of us that weren't there can ever be 100% certain. However, the fact that there were no fight injuries to Martin, that Zimmerman did have fight injuries, and that witnesses did see Martin on top (one saw him hitting Zimmerman) do support the case for self defense. That Zimmerman was described as "soft", and someone he would never place in a ring, and that Martin was known to fight, also support the idea that martin was the aggressor. Martin's description of Zimmerman make it even more likely a scenario. That Zimmerman mentored black kids, and defended a homeless black man, and that his elderly neighbor, a black woman, stated she believed it was his voice crying for help, all indicate that he didn't have any racial motivation. That he turned down a chance to be in the Citizens on Patrol program tells me he wasn't a "wanna-be cop". Given all that, and that there was nothing even close to proof of a crime on Zimmerman's part, mean the jury decided correctly. Under out system, that's the fair and just thing. If we are all somehow wrong, then God will certainly deal with that.

I don't care about it either. I just get annoyed by people who want to ignore evidence and go by emotion. they want to turn our justice system into an angry mob that is out for blood.

It annoys me how they wanted to put a racial spin on it. Nothing that was put out about the case lead me to believe that it was racial.

I though zimmerman was kinda dumb for following him and tre for attacking him. retarded people

after wading through the retardation tre ended up being in the wrong.

clear case of stupid people... move on and don't try turn a country upside down over some tards.

which of the two used racist hate language?

one didn't mention race until he was asked, the other used racial slurs from the get go.

True but im not the one painting him out to be a hero. The only way you should paint Zimmerman out to be a hero is if you are 100% sure he did not lie or he did not touch martin first.

None of you know that but are praising him. Thats just stupid. Should he have been found guilty? Nope. But is it possible he put his hands on Martin first? yes. Is anyone 100% sure he did not? Nope. So dont praise him

I said it in the other thread too, thank god at least 6 people were not brainwashed by the media to the point where they had their minds made up before hearing the evidence (or lack thereof).

He did defend himself.

He had a gun in his hand....after giving the kid every chance he could he finally used it. The lesson we should all take from this is 'Don't start sheit with stranger'.

Really? Because I am painting him as nothing more than a man that defended himself from an attacker. Personally I think he could have acted better, hindsight is 20x20 though. I am sure he also wishes he acted differently, but he cannot. I don't think a man should be jailed for getting his ass whooped, and defending his life. People that are bashing him is blaming the victim.

Looks like Obama and Holder want their pound of flesh regardless of the law. Though I guess you can understand why they want to keep this going with all the scandals the Obama administration is involved in these days.

i just turned to HLN, to see if they are reporting this.
you know if there was any truth to this, that this sorry network, all the anchors would be celebrating and dancing a jig. hell nancy grace would have got up out of bed to report this breaking news.

If who was scared, Martin or Zimmerman?

If Martin was scared of Zimmerman, then that's a good question. I know when I was a teenager, and some creep was following me, I'd get the hell out of the area if I thought he was trying to harm me. Trayvon was close to home, he could have done the trip, no problem.

If Zimmerman was scared? Zimmerman was neighborhood watch. He went up to Martin and asked who he was, what he was doing in the area. At that point he was not scared, just suspicious. It was when Martin attacked him that he became the threat, and since Martin had him on the ground, running was out of the question. Self defense was all he had left.

The evidence supports Zimmerman's side. He had numerous lesions on his head and face. There were none on Martin. This indicates Martin attacked Zimmerman, Zimmerman shot him to defend himself.

What saddens me the most is that nobody seems to give a damn how Zimmerman feels. It's obvious to me from everything I've read and interviews I've watched with his family that he is haunted by the fact that he took Martin's life. He doesn't need threats from the black panthers to understand the impact of what he did. He even LOOKS haunted. The man obviously regrets that he took a life. Savages we are that he should be portrayed as a heartless racist bent on murdering a black kid.

He will live with the guilt for the rest of his life.

This is a great opportunity for me to follow my curiosity and learn more about how law works in that state.

Something seems off about having a jury of only 6 peers.
I want to learn about this and find out how they explain things it probably makes rational sense but due to my ignorance it seems strange and foreign.

If I find anything really weird I will bring it back up but I am assuming I am just going to learn about things I didn't know that probably make at least partial sense.

My bad, at age 28 it looks even worst. I don't know everything about the case, but from what I can see, Zimmerman was soft. Although bigger, and most likely stronger than Martin, he chose to take the weeny way out. It's sad. If he was that soft he should have never taken the job in the first place.

The weeny way out?

How do you figure?

another lesson we should take is everyone needs to get a ccw to protect themselfs from OTHER ccw holders. I mean are you out patrolling the streets and following people with your ccw? Ya playing cop bro?

zimmerman could have been half gutted and blind and still no one would care nor believe his innocence. He will have a hard time finding sympathy till the media finds a new horse to beat.

I wouldn't be surprised if once this blows over if the same media that wants to hang him will not bring him in to hear his side of the story and how his life is going.

anything to get ratings.
