Land Developers who skate around the letter, meaning and interpretation of the law is nothing new. In parts of the U.S. where natural disasters have
forced legislators to write more stringent building codes - for earthquakes in California and hurricanes in Florida - Developers routinely cut
corners. And after homes NOT built-to-code crumble, the lawsuits start.
Land Developers seem to be experts at "getting around" laws, in their unending quest for profits. A year or so ago, they were agitating to take
over some of the Civil War battlefields and develop the land into housing. Total unscrupulous greed is a sight to behold ...
If the EB-5 program really worked as it was written, a lot of urban-blight would be gone, and depressed areas would have more jobs. Seems to be a
win-win situation for everyone - but the greedy, corrupt Developers.
