Again guys... I believe in common courtesy too... But this is about what you have the right to do, not what you find icky or not.

I am a libertarian mostly. I would not outlaw public displays of affection. As for what people have a right to do. I shall reiterate something I have said many times before. Government sanctioned marriage is nothing more than a contract. As such it should be available to all consenting adults. Personally, I don't think the government sanctioned contract of marriage is useful, I think it is used to make sure that the government doesn't have to provide services, like welfare, if they can get your ex-partner to do it. Should I ever choose to be with someone again, it will not require nor involve a "legal" marriage.

I'm a little confused. I do believe everyone has the right to get married. If you're going for the "respect the Bible's terms of marriage and settle for a legal marriage instead" arguement, I have only this to say... Marriage is not defined in the Bible as a single man and a single woman. That's a cop-out. These are the various definitions in the Bible regarding a proper marriage.



Included are the books and verses which mention these proper types of Biblical marriage, so if you don't believe me you can easily look it up for yourself.

I would also like to include the fact that many Christians say the Old Testament is no longer relevant. If that's true, then "one man and one woman" is also irrelevant, as it's in the Old Testament.

Yes, I'm actually aware of that too.. kind of scary I would say, but I have not seen images of the "machines, or devices." I actually would not want to look.

This thread is FULL of evidence to back the claim that it is from birth. You have presented not even ONE piece of evidence to back your claim that no babies are born gay.

You are shucking the burden of proof.

Nope, you need to prove yours. Your claim is that no babies are born gay. Plenty of evidence has been presented to back that they are.

Either you can back it, or you cant. Its that simple. We have shown our evidence.

I don't know why you are confused by what I said because you clearly think I am against gay marriage and I am not. When some people talk about gay marriage, they discuss it as if it is about God and it is not. What we think of as marriage is merely a government sanctioned contract. That is not a cop-out, it is the issue. What contracts should the government legally enforce. Many gays want to be able to get the "legal" benefits of marriage and I think they should if they wish to.

As for marriage being between a man and a woman, I never said that. Again I think you are mistaking where I am coming from. Marriage is a lifelong commitment to another human. In the bible people would often having multiple wives and concubines.
