Skynet from Terminator, are we there yet ?

Skynet's Getting closer... in my view...

I still think AI is "the BIG secret" amongst research communities and above top secret commercial projects.

It's not a secret secret, but an open secret, nonetheless.
The Pentagon is working on it, hundreds of top research facilities are working on it, funded both by government and private capital, they do this openly, in labs and data centers, via the NSA, via Prism, via facebook and google, quite obviously.

But we have to be reasonable. There are also secret secret projects going on that probably include other publicly visible operations, such as NASA and the latest laser communications project, LADEE.

LADEE is important for "Skynet AI" because LADEE is literally contains high speed laser communications arrays which cannot be tapped, read again, communications which cannot be intercepted, which is the ultimate in privacy of communications, and that is one of several necessary precursor projects which humans designed to facilitate the birth of A.I.

The government is currently in shut down, so is NASA, but the LADEE mission is "GO!".
