Been lingering for a while and came across a post reply involving what soldiers thought of Snowden and Syria, and it prompted me to finally join,
regardless of consequences.
Appearantly 3 individuals with military background completely disregarded the Snowden question and talked about Syria only, prompting thoughts of
control in which we soldiers are not allowed to discuss such matters. Maybe so, but I'll put this out there for everyone to read. NEVER BEFORE IN
MY LIFE HAVE I BEEN MORE DISGUSTED WITH OUR GOVERNMENT.
Benghazi, IRS, Obamacare, NSA, CIA, plus my own experience. Overwhelming is the word.
With 13 years military service and counting I have lived my life trying to help the citizens of this great country in every way I possibly could. I
follow the Army core values strictly. LDRSHIP:Loyalty, Duty,Respect,Selfless Service,Honor,Integrity,Personal Courage.
While I do believe our Govt is beyond CORRUPT, I would NEVER leak information to another country and I do believe Snowden was both right and wrong in
what he did.
That's not why Im here mostly though.
Im here to convey a simple message that I have not seen yet so far on ATS or anywhere.
I swore in under oath, quoting the first part of it :
"I, _____, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, FOREIGN and
DOMESTIC;
I shall, as well as everyone I know, not turn on OUR OWN people's Constitutional Rights. I am here for my country, and my country is not the
U.S.Govt. it is the John's and Jane's who reside here.
I am not alone in this mentality I assure you. I do hold a clearance and will die before dishonor, but I will as well follow the Constitution before
my own life.
Me: 31, Texas native, 3 overseas Tours,5 1/2 years deployed. 1 year left on Bachelor's degree, and a free thinker. We are not as much of sheep as
general public thinks.
-So long as men vow to give one's life for others;
Hope is not lost.
Till next time my new friends!!!!
