....More can be read about her HERE....

Rita Heyworth

....

1940s - Rita Hayworth: Rita started acting in the 1930s but by 1940, she started taking lead actress roles. During the early 1940s, Rita also became one of the two famous pin-up girls (Betty Grabel being the other) for Americans serving in WWII

I believe that the black and white plays a large role in how they look. Granted they are still very beautiful.

And yes, I do believe that yesterdays women were more classy then today. Booty shorts come to mind (I love booty shorts
, I'm just giving an example)

The women of yesterday were not subject to the level and degree of social brainwashing. These days not only women but men are victims. The women of today are of lesser quality, men too, simply because technology has allowed a larger pipeline into our lives and consequently we receive larger doses.

How do you define class? What is class? Yes, women in the past were more classy. In fact majority of people in the past had more class. We all come from different walks in life and the people I grew up with are very far from class. I recall watching actors portraying rich characters living in mansions and I was like "whoa! who knew people can live in such beautiful and clean places." I just wish people had more class today and were also more respectful.

Especially in music videos and earning huge amounts of cash and being divas!...And as a personal preference im saying that i prefare the old style look of yesterday

always a fan of the old days where women were less slutty and had more appreciation for the things around them.

Today, women are just ... nasty with no self respect what so ever.

Small wonder.. look at their role models. Lady Gag Gag is a great example.

Sadly... it starts with an even younger generation these days. It's so pathetic.

For the guys.. Beiber is the spokesperson of their style, so it's foolish all the way around. I'd hate to see what another 10 years does to the youger generation. Some how, the older generation tends to mimic then, though... Mothers try to be like their daughters, dad's like their sons...

I miss the good olde days... I miss the ignorance even.

Sorry! I always go on random rants. I agree women in the past looked better compared to today. Of course a lot of people need to do what is popular to appeal to consumers. The entertainment industry has changed so much where attention (good or bad) is consider good and people would do anything from dressing in ridiculous outfits, acting childish, etc. Just to get attention and make money. I like how actresses can dress in elegant dresses and look like they're of royalty. Today it seems they would dress like homeless women you can find on the streets. Maybe it's just me and I see society different from most people.

I have always been drawn to the hairstyles of the 40's I think that they are so beautiful. I have waist long hair, and I am older so I do braids with buns a lot, part up and part down to my waist, but I think that is more of the old Greek style. Anyway even if I can't do the 40's style because of length, I still feel as if I might be a reincarnate from the 1940's or Ancient Greece, I guess.

Hey there doc
Nice thread. So many beautiful ladies!!

Class is of the past
But not everywhere. I was always taught to be modest in my clothing styles.

I actually dressed up the other night and I had some pearls on and this beautiful gal told me I looked so classy and that I reminded her of Audrey Hepburn...say whaaaaa??? I was blown away!!! What a compliment to be given!!

Hepburn sure was a beauty ....

Wearing clothes that cover yourself but reveal just a tiny...leaves more to the imagination. And imagination is better.

peace and love to you sweet friend

Besides, in the past, people did not have access to cameras, as they do today. So people would get glamorous, just to get a picture taken. Today you could get a picture taken at your most inopportune moments.

Yesterdays Women More Classy Than Today's?,
Hello Doc,indeed they were more classy, beautiful, educated and with common sense.

Today we can see quite the opposite ,on all aspects which can characterize a woman.

In fairness to todays women the ladies of the past had to deal with the household. Todays woman has to do the same, pay the bill, work at least 1 job, get the kids to soccer....

That said it is nice to see a woman done up right. With style.

So Audrey! Nice indeed. Thats what im trying to say. A lot of women where i live go out wearing next to nothing. Because they are probably copying stars what wear the same like that guy lady gaga!. But ya just cant beat a nice dress flowing. Oh my imagination!!!!

The young generations are different because we live in the times in which everything is moving with high speed, those generations are living based on the speed of the information where everything is already preprepared in terms of what you have stated, without any time to learn and asimilate that info, and to put it on solid ground like in the past from which a very solid education use to grow.IMHO

And classic.

My 8 year old keeps saying that now "I know you are but what am I"....oh the battle that ensues over that phrase!!!

**Back on topic real quick... Monroe was a troubled soul from all I have read about her. She may have been beautiful but on the inside she hurt.~imo
