Hope everyone is ok. Maybe it was a gas line of some sort. It seems as these explosions are becoming quite the normality in this country.

How many words does this stupid thing make me put it, just trying to pass on information and this website makes it very difficult now, becoming too big. Maybe this will be enough to pass it on....

We sill see. If anyone has any other info please pass it forward.

Thanks

A few blocks away from UN Headquarters?

They made sure to mention that so I have suspicions to say the least.

But to look at the comment section at the link...It's all about the Jews.

Damn there are so many ignorant people. When they have nothing intelligent to add..."Jews, Zionist Agenda..."

Butt-Wipes.

Peace

Saw the tweet from RT, and then no followup. No other news agency that I'm following has tweeted about it, and can't see it on news websites either, or Google. So might have been a rather small explosion, nobody injured etc. All looks good.

When I just asked on Twitter about this someone replied with the following , which is pretty much in line with what has been reported....

"The explosion is believed to be from an underground transformer. Exposed a manhole and set a few cars on fire. No reported injuries"

Oh thats good. Maybe that's why no one else is reporting on it. I'm sure if there is more, we will find out. Just thought it might be something that wasn't posted yet.

(cough) (cough)

Maybe 20 billion into modernizing the progressively failing infrastructure of New York City would make a whole lot more sense than the wondrous vision of movable walls and levies and dykes Bloomberg said is being planned in recent days.

They seem to be getting more and more of these little 'technological disasters' as some listings describe it, as these systems age and the funds aren't really there without raising rates to bust people in half for the needed upgrading. I couldn't help think about that though, given that it literally was within the past days I read he was pushing for this modern marvel of constructions.

We'll they will blame the Syrians anyway. They just need time to get their stories straight. Wait for it 3-2-1 ..

NEW YORK -- A manhole cover exploded around 9 p.m. on Saturday in Midtown.

The incident happened on 319 East 50th Street.

There was a vehicle parked over the manhole at the time that sustained serious damage.

No one was in the vehicle at the time, and no one walking by was injured.

FDNY initially responded to the scene, but Con Edison is now taking over in the investigation.

The section of East 50th Street where the explosion took place remains closed as of 11 p.m.

This a lot more common than people think.

I imagine that it's only noteworthy because it's somewhat near the UN.

I've spent my whole life living in Manhattan and one thing I can tell you is that our infrastructure, while underground, is ancient. Whenever there is a very heavy rain or snow there are always concerns about the water going underground and into certain systems.

I'd say out of all the incidents of underground explosions in my lifetime there were only two that actually scared me. The first was a blown steampipe across the street from my office. The pressure had built so high that when it blew all the buildings within a few blocks shook, including mine, and working on a high floor that wasn't fun. We have an evacuation plan (all tall buildings are required by law to do so) but half the employees were already running down the stairs before we could even assemble. The second was after a snowstorm too much water went underground and corroded a transformer and the manholes in the area blew. A manhole cover blew off and went up about 10 feet in the air. (They're made of iron and weigh a few hundred pounds). Thankfully no one got killed but it landed on the hood of a car and smashed through pretty hard. The whole neighborhood stunk like electrical fire and there was lots of smoke.

It's sad but these things happen. The bottom line is that we keep getting more people and more electronic devices but we don't upgrade the infrastructure. This is going to keep happening.

Seems like an accident folks.

Be glad that it was, and that no one was hurt.

There is much more money to be made rebuilding the infrastructure of Third World Countries that have been Liberated - (Bombed), than there is keeping Bridges, Roads, Pipelines ect up to scratch in the USA.

It was just a manhole explosion. False alarm everybody, I thought it was going to be the real deal here, but apparently not. The Terrorist still do not have the kahoni's to make things go boom...

Maybe one day, they'll be smart and go on the tactical purge, offensive. And we could have something real to chat about, with A Perfect Circle playing in the background of course. Respectively.

It's also a two blocks from the Japan Society ,a Gristedes,Trumps tower ,and literally next to Chinese noodle shop and facial spa .
It's closer to those than the UN actually .
The location is unimportant .

Well, think.

"Unremarkable Manhattan manhole blows open, no one injured. Some nearby vehicles damaged."

or

"Explosions near the UN, vehicles damaged, no immediate reports of fatalities. News at 11!"

Which one will, you think, get more attention?

And is it the media's job to report the news (lmao) or get attention to themselves?

Simple stuff when it comes to the news these days.

Now about your suspicions. Have you tried a cream?

oO

Might want to keep in mind the actual size of Manhattan.

Everything is near something.

Seriously.
