70 virgins in heaven. Are Muslim men shallow for falling for such an obvious lie?

Compare Islam’s heaven to Buddhism. In Buddhism your reward for following it is enlightenment and all knowledge of the universe and life.

The prize for Muslims is to offer you indulgences in excess sex. Wisdom is not mentioned, or if it is, I have not heard of it.

Muslims. Is such a heaven really something to strive for and be proud of?

Allah's heaven seems better suited to the feeble minded and those who can't comprehend the nuances of reality or want to live in a porn movie. It's truly fast food for the masses, an advertisement that everyone can comprehend because it appeals to one's basest drives. Our Sexuality.

Do you really picture Jesus and Mohamed in heaven with a bunch of virgins moving on and off their engorged members?

Do you picture Mary, watching such activity with pride?

Does PBUH stand for ---- Pieceoftail Be Upon Him?

Regards
DL

It's a pretty mundane afterlife .. isn't it? Earthbound in thought. I'd find it dreadful. Thankfully that isn't what really happens. Being free from the animal drives and physical needs when our bodies die is something to look forward to. Thoughts of a mundane orgy afterlife .. yuk.

What Allah failed to tell Mohammad (pbah), is that those virgins will be the 144,000 Jewish virgin males from John's vision in the book of Revelation!

Frankly I find it Hypocritical.

How is it possible to have such vicious views towards women only to turn around and be rewarded by a Gang Bang?

I don't get it. Their religion is Completely Fowled in that respect.

Though if you think about it, those values and views are instilled at such an early age. It is indicative of Brain Washing.

How Many Wives Will The Believers Have In Paradise?

“Each man among them shall have two wives, the marrow of each of the two wives' shanks will be seen glimmering under the flesh, and there is not in all Paradise a single unmarried man.” They will have up to a hundred concubines in Paradise while the Shuhada’ shall have seventy-two wives, numbers indicating abundance rather than an exact quantity, and Allah knows best.

Some texts:

1. Al-Miqdam ibn Ma`dikarb said, Allah be well-pleased with him: The Messenger of Allah said, upon him blessings and peace:

“For the Shahid in the Divine presence there will be six qualities: [1] he will be forgiven from the first moment his blood is spilled; [2] he shall see his seat in Paradise and be protected against the punishment of the grave; [3] he shall be safe from the Greatest Terror [the rising of the dead]; [4] he shall be crowned with the diadem of dignity, one ruby of which is worth more than the entire world and its contents; [5] he shall be coupled with seventy-two spouses from the wide-eyed maidens of Paradise; and [6] he shall be granted to intercede for seventy of his relatives.” Ahmad and al-Tirmidhi narrated it and the latter said: “This is a fair, sound, single-chained hadith” (hasan sahih gharib).

2. Anas said, Allah be well-pleased with him: The Messenger of Allah said, upon him blessings and peace:

“The servant in Paradise shall be married with seventy wives.” Someone said, “Messenger of Allah, can he bear it?” He said: “He will be given strength for a hundred.” Abu Nu`aym in Sifat al-Janna, al-`Uqayli in the Du`afa’, and al-Bazzar in his Musnad.

2a. From Zayd ibn Arqam, Allah be well-pleased with him, when an incredulous Jew or Christian asked the Prophet, upon him blessings and peace, “Are you claiming that a man will eat and drink in Paradise??” He replied: “Yes, by the One in Whose hand is my soul, and each of them will be given the strength of a hundred men in his eating, drinking, coitus, and pleasure.” Ahmad, al-Nasa’i in the Sunan al-Kubra, Ibn Abi Shayba, Ibn Hibban, and al-Hakim who declared it sahih.

3. Abu Sa`id al-Khudri said, Allah be well-pleased with him: The Messenger of Allah said, upon him blessings and peace:

“The humblest of the People of Paradise shall have eighty thousand servants and seventy-two wives. A palace of pearl and peridot(a: A pale green variety of chrysolite; used as a gemstone) and sapphire shall be erected for him as wide as the distance between al-Jabiya [a valley about 70 kms. East of Makka] and San`a’ [in Yemen].” Al-Tirmidhi and Ahmad narrated it.

4. Abu Hurayra said, Allah be well-pleased with him: The Messenger of Allah said, upon him blessings and peace:

“The humblest of the People of Paradise in rank shall have seven levels and as he will be on the sixth, below the seventh, he will have three hundred servants, every morning and evening three hundred dishes of gold shall be brought before him, every dish carrying something the other does not. He will taste pleasure as sharply with the first dish as he will with the last. He shall say, ‘My Lord! If you gave me permission, I would feed all the people of Paradise and water them from what I have and nothing should go missing from it.’ He will most certainly have seventy-two wives from the wide-eyed maidens of Paradise, the couch of only one of whom is as wide as a square mile on earth.” Ahmad narrated it in the Musnad.

www.livingislam.org...

Seems more like if you're Muslim and you are a good one when you die, you turn into Epic superman bro.. Strength of 100 men and bundles of women to shag.

Somehow.. I think the carrot dangles in front of the donkey rather tediously about it all..

After a life of being a good muslim, you are subjected to an eternity of dealing with premenstrual
syndrome from 72 women at the same time.

Does not sound like paradise to me.

More than likely. I would certainly be bored if I had to spend eternity having sex with nothing else to do, wow. How about a chicken Cesar salad? That sounds a lot more obtainable, costs a lot less and is a lot more tasty. Not to mention when I'm done eating I can move on to something else.

Plus, I don't think I've eaten any vegetables in a while.

I would make a bad Muslim.

And what does the Muslim afterlife promise for faithful women? Another life of servitude, subjugation, and the pleasantries of being a concubine for all eternity?

I'd rather there be nothing, or reincarnate as a slug, myself.

You people really like to take the beliefs of terrorists and show them to be the beliefs of real Muslims don't you? Well sorry to burst your hateful little bubble but that entire belief has no basis in the Holy Quran and is only based on Hadiths that cant be proven to be authentic and a mistranslation of the Quran.

Does the Quran really promise 72 virgins?

Compare it to the biblical religions (sorry Islam is not one), Soddom and Gomorah were destroyed after the inhabitants whom were sexually immoral demanded sex with the angels the lord had sent and he was wroth with the deviant culture there and the unrepentant people.

Jesus said "There is no difference between a man and a woman, in the resurrection you shall have a 'new body' a celestial (Spiritual/Energy/Angelic) body like the angels and you shall neither be given nor taken in marriage for the past things (Sex/Fornication) shall be no more and you will be like the angels.

Angels - son's of god (the gender is irrelevant)

A man is made to work, you shall neither tire, nor thirst for a wellspring of life shall dwell within you, nor hunger, you may 'choose' to sleep though as no one is compelled to partake of the waters of life but if god wishes he may call you forth.

Servants of god whose purpose to do good and serve god even maybe watching over the next children if god decides to make any more.

Becoming an angel is called the inheritance of man and that is mentioned in the new testament indirectly but clearly, an angel is a god like being whom has responsibility and the heaven of Christianity is not a holiday camp but god's love is better than any paradise.

The wisdom of the holy spirit shall bless them.

A little different to being a pet alpha chimp in a jungle enclosure at the zoo eh,.

Sometimes an angel is reborn into the world for god's purpose or there own and there fore reincarnation is possible in the bible, indeed several early sect's of Christianity and several Jewish sects believed in it and it was only after Emperor Constantine and his mother Helena had the bible as we know it compiled from the many texts (more than were included) then available that they decided to remove an reference to reincarnation as they reasoned that people would continue there immoral ways if they thought they had more time to repent (Spiritually evolve), but there is the ladder of Jacob with the angels ascending and descending between earth and heaven and there is the throne seen by Ezekiel that any Hindu or Buddhist would recognise as the Lord of Dharma the throne mounted over the wheels of the souls cycle of reincarnation.

The concept of physical reincarnation became paramount but the bible say's that what is of the earth will return to the earth (The physical body if dust) and what is of god will return to god (the breath of life/spirit
/soul) so it is the soul and nature of the being not the body that is important but while we live incarnate Jesus said the body is more than clothing as it is part of us but we must be reborn into the angelic state to live or "it is given for a man to be born once then to die then the resurrection" a man must be reborn to enter the kingdom of heaven (His/Her soul must ascend in nature)

But they want it no wonder the devil (A jealous and evil fallen angel) is laughing all the way to the bank with there soul's.

Yep. God said he wants sex to stay in marriage. In heaven there is no marriage.
And angels are created beings .. without sex, children, or marriage.
Therefore, in heaven there is no sex.

Sex is earthbound in thought. Mundane. However, the afterlife is etherial.

I'm not sure about that.

Genesis 6:2
That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose. 3 And the Lord said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

Except right in Genesis it says that the Nephilim (order of angels) laid with the women of earth. I though angels were not supposed to partake in such earthly pleasures?

Gen 6:1 And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,
Gen 6:2 That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they were fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.
Gen 6:3 And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive with man, for that he also is flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.
Gen 6:4 There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

Oh yes, and an afterlife of nothing but sex doesn't sound very good to me.

Of course it was built as an army and stayed as an army, if you desert you are shot (Except in our more enlightened age) and in Islam if you depart there faith even if you never had a choice about being a member you are an apostate and you shall not suffer an apostate to live.

The guy hated woman, he was a salesman whom as a young man married his elderly boss the widow whom owned the export import business were he was a salesman and subsequently he gained control, he threw his weight around so got himself exiled from the city by the elders so turned his charm on converting the bandits with whom he now had to associate to his side, he hated woman and thought they should be crushed down under his heel's, he grew his army by cunning and eventually force yet none could desert as he claimed to be a prophet and many believed him so the others whom were along for the ride dared not attempt to leave as he was a vindictive and nasty man whom made examples of his enemy's and any one he thought had betrayed him he committed many heinous crimes, rape, torture, murder, extortion, child abuse and add to that blasphemy. Any one whom challenged his word was silenced and today they even bury any Koran like a person if it has been as they see it desecrated.

Kingdom of the beast.

The simple answer is NO! There is no promise of 72 virgins for martyrs, terrorists or suicide bombers anywhere in the Quran.

The section many people claim promises this is Chapter (78) sūrat l-naba (The Great News). The controversy is due to the poor translation of ONE verse from verses 29 to 34.

The translation by Moshin

And all things We have recorded in a Book. (29)

So taste you (the results of your evil actions); No increase shall We give you, except in torment. (30)

Verily, for the Muttaqûn[], there will be a success (Paradise); (31)

Gardens and vineyards, (32)

And young full-breasted (mature) maidens of equal age, (33)

And a full cup (of wine). (34)

The translation by Yusuf Ali

And all things have We preserved on record. (29)

"So taste ye (the fruits of your deeds); for no increase shall We grant you, except in Punishment." (30)

Verily for the righteous there will be a fulfilment of (the Heart's) desires; (31)

Gardens enclosed, and Grape-vines; (32)

Companions of Equal Age; (33)

And a Cup full (to the Brim). (34)

We see from these 2 translations that the verse that causes all the problems is verse 33.

The word for word translation of this verse is,

wakawāʿiba = And splendid companions CONJ – prefixed conjunction wa (and)
N – accusative feminine plural noun

atrāban = well-matched, ADJ – accusative feminine plural indefinite adjective

So how can some translators get it so wrong! Well the answer is simple. Many translators of the Quran from Arabic to other languages have used the Hadith and other sources to help in completing the translations. You therefore find many translations that use stories from the Hadith to elaborate the actual Quran translations. This is clearly the case with this verse in Mohsins and many other English and other language translations.

It is therefore essential to check any controversial verse translation such as this with a true word for word translation of the actual Arabic Quran. It is clear from the true word for word translation of this verse that no such promise of 72 or even 1 virgin exists in the Quran. www.justislam.co.uk...
