Having always had a great love of art, many of my favourite pieces of artwork are due to some sci-fi film/movie posters…

Before you even go to see a movie at the cinema, the one, first thing that you do get to see is the actual poster publicising the movie, sometimes months in advance. You may not have the slightest idea of what the movie is all about, but the poster will conjure up a whole realm of ideas in your mind even before you have seen the movie…..

I have posted 3 of my favourite sci-fi movie posters from around the world and I thought it would be a good idea for other ATS Members to share with us their favourite sci-fi posters. This poster could be what made you drawn to the movie in the first place, or just post a sci-fi poster that you feel depicts the movie and the interest you had in the film before you had even went to see it at the cinema…

The three I have posted in this thread are:- Metropolis (released 1927), Twelve Monkey’s (released 1995) and Westworld (released 1973)…

I look forward to seeing your favourite sci-fi posters….

I can go on for days...

I love art - I dug staring at vinyl album covers as a kid as much as I loved (and still do) checking out all the movie posters that advertise the new movies Coming Soon.

But I love it best when the sexy ladies are used in movie posters...

I may be back later to post more. I dig this idea - thanks!

I love the original Star Wars "Return of the Jedi" poster when it was called "Revenge of the Jedi".

The movie theater I went to when I was younger had one of these and I wanted it so bad.

Thanks for the posters so far guys, some really nice and interesting art work...

It's great when you see a picture/poster you haven't seen for ages, but as soon as you see it sends you back to another time in your life. This in turn can then sends you off into remembering and reminiscing of times gone past. That sudden story of thought may only last a couple of seconds, but can at times have a positive impact on your day.....

Here is another of my favourite posters: A Clockwork Orange (Released 1971)

not a well known film, but a classic in its own right.
its a kind of comedic, 'flash gordon'-type movie
its an early 80's film and its very enjoyable.
starring robert urich, mary crosbie and michael d. roberts.
i havnt seen it in 25+ years, i must watch it again
ah, the memories....

Not only this one "alien" but the starwars ones are just confusing as heck to me. Where did they get these ideas for posters. I am guessing the one above was at one point Darth Vader with cat like features and sabers on his head. Then the one with the cowboy Han Solo maybe? I am just lost.... and the alien one.... who allowed these blasphemies..
