Can the NWO be defeated?

Here's a simple question:

If the Illuminati/Nwo is as powerful as some say...
If history has been shaped by the Few and continues to be so...
If America was created for a nefarious purpose in a worldwide agenda pushed by evil men intent on running the world and enslaving its people...
and If all the common men and women throughout the ages (for example: the soldiers of the revolutionary army, the people of the french and russian revolutions, etc.) were all used without their knowledge to further an NWO agenda while fighting for something they thought was right...

How can we assume that any action on our part isn't exactly what they want us (and have directed us) to do?
