Well I don't want no Jesus freak to tell me what it's all about
No black magician telling me to get my soul out
Don't believe in violence, I don't even believe in peace
I've opened the door and my mind has been released
Well I don't want no preacher telling me about the god in the sky
No I don't want no one to tell me where I'm gonna go when I die
I wanna live my life, I don't want people telling me what to do
I just believe in myself, 'cause no one else is true
Every day just comes and goes
Life is one big overdose
People try to rule the nation
I can see through their frustration
People hiding their real faces
Each one running their rat race
But behind each flower there grows a weed
In their world of make-believe
So believe what I tell you, it's the only way to fight in the end
Just believe in yourself, you know you really shouldn't have to pretend
Don't let those empty people try and interfere with your mind
Just live your life and leave them all behind.
Most anything by the band Europe. Wish I could embed videos. These guys are great. Specifically songs, "I'll Cry For You", Halfway To Heaven" and
Prisioners Of Paradise"
Hi Cody, Heck yes, Dee Snider....I still rock to old tapes of him and his gang. Glad to see some other Twisted Sister fans here as well. I like "I
Wanna Rock" on my "Stay Hungry" tape. Europe and most all their songs are still the ones that really move me...especially, "I'll Cry For You".
Hmm...what song personifies my spirit? That's a hard question, many different songs for many different moods but there is one that does something with
my spirit on a deeper level.
No lyrics, only instrumental.
I have only one CD from these guys and I'm not a particular big fan but this song sets my soul on fire. Especially as a kid it always gave the feeling
like my spirit was to big to be contained by my body. I wanted to rip my body open so my soul could fly.....
Kind of freaky if you stop and think about it but that's how it felt. I have no idea if that's normal
Peace

I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger, traveling through this world of woe, and there's no sickness, toil, no danger, in that bright land to which I
go. I'm going there to meet my brothers, and from that land we'll find a way, I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger, looking for a brighter day. One
of these mornings, and it won't be long, all men will rise, stand side by side, then hand in hand we'll stand together, vibrations calling all
mankind. I'm going there to meet my brothers, and from that land we'll find a way, I'm just a poor wayfaring stranger, looking for a brighter day.
HP Lovecraft version, my favorite song that hits the tuning fork inside of me.
I wanted to place this song from Immortal technique , the last year was pretty hard for me and this music made me get back the warrior mentality i
used to have by a bit.
But the Lyrics are too much too censor ( its still rap ) so i go with another fantastic song very high in my list of songs i listen when my spirit
needs a boost.
Although this song is written a decade before i was born , i feel a very big connection with the music from this time frame , even bands like CCR i
consider way way way better then any music written in my generation.
When i was a baby/kiddo my parents used to listen to Pink floyd a lot , they are amazing , and even today only these kinds of songs still have the
ability to really touch you.
But here it is :
and this one feels like the Ambulance came by and gave you a shot of adrenaline
I really Appreciate these music sharing Threads , im getting a very lay back no need to prove vibe from them
Now i just want to share one more song , yeah yeah yeah the last one
the first 20 seconds might sound a bit wierd , but after that its really worth it , i promise

Good morning shrevegal
For obvious reasons this gets me going
We close our eyes
We close our eyes and dream and the world has turned around again
When everybody is running in the big race
And having a good time
Who am I to cast a shadow
Who am I?
I looked Death in the face last night
I saw him in a mirror
And he simply smiled
He told me not to worry
He told me just to take my time
Chorus:
We close our eyes and the world has turned around again
We close our eyes and dream and another year has come and gone
We close our eyes and the world has turned around again
We close our eyes and dream ...
And if you come to me
And if you touch my hand
I might just slip away
I might just disappear
Who am I?
And if you think I'm worth it
And if you think it's not too late
We might start falling
If we don't try to hard
We might start falling in love
(Chorus)
We're on the healing path
We're on a roller coaster ride
That could never turn back
And if you love me
And if you really try
To make the seconds count
Then we can close our eyes
(chorus)
We close our eyes and the world has turned around again
It depends on my mood most of the time. However if I've ever heard a song that just defines me it "Sounds of silence." I heard the original as a
child and it was a difficult thing to admit that I liked it because everyone knew me as a heavy metal headbanger (literally after a six pack.)
Shameful secret to anyone who would claim to be a fan of Suicidal Tendencies. The new version is totally awesome.
hope that worked!
peace
ETA: Ok forgot the lyrics. Here they are.
Hello darkness, my old friend
I've come to talk with you again
Because a vision softly creeping
Left its seeds while I was sleeping
And the vision that was planted in my brain
Still remains
Within the sound of silence
In restless dreams I walked alone
Narrow streets of cobblestone
'Neath the halo of a street lamp
I turned my collar to the cold and damp
When my eyes were stabbed by the flash of a neon light
That split the night
And touched the sound of silence
And in the naked light I saw
Ten thousand people, maybe more
People talking without speaking
People hearing without listening
People writing songs that voices never share
And no one dared
Disturb the sound of silence
"Fools", said I, "You do not know
Silence like a cancer grows
Hear my words that I might teach you
Take my arms that I might reach you"
But my words, like silent raindrops fell
And echoed
In the wells of silence
And the people bowed and prayed
To the neon god they made
And the sign flashed out its warning
In the words that it was forming
And the sign said, "The words of the prophets are written on the subway walls
And tenement halls"
And whispered in the sounds of silence

And if these words you do not heed
Your pocketbook just kinda might recede
When some man comes along and
Claims godly need
He will clean you out right through your
Tweed
That's right, remember there is a big
Difference between kneeling down
And bending over...
He's got twenty million dollars
In his heavenly bank account...
All from those chumps who was
Born again
Oh yeah, oh yeah
He's got seven limousines
And a private plane...
All for the use of his
Special friends
Oh yeah, oh yeah
He's got thousand-dollar suits
And a wembley tie...
Girls love to stroke it
While he's on the phone
Oh yeah, oh yeah
At the house of representatives
He's a groovy guy...
When he gives thanks
He is not alone...
He is dealin'
He is really dealin'
Irs can't determine
Where the hook is
It is easy with the bible
To pretend that
You're in show biz
They won't get him
They will never get him
For the naughty stuff
That he did
It is best in cases like this
To pretend that
You are stupid
He's got presidential help
All along the way
He says the grace
While the lawyers chew
Oh yeah
They sure do
And the govenors agree to say:
"he's a lovely man!"
He makes it easier for
Them to screw
All of you...
Yes, that's true!
'cause he helps put the fear of god
In the common man
Snatchin' up money
Everywhere he can
Oh yeah
Oh yeah
He's got twenty million dollars
In his heavenly bank account
You ain't got nothin', people
You ain't got nothin', people
You ain't got nothin', people
Thank the man...oh yeah
