You do know that there's a difference between sodium fluoride and calcium fluoride right? Calcium fluoride occurs naturally in nature. Sodium fluoride doesn't. Sodium fluoride is a by product of the aluminum industry. It has been used as a rat poison, and it's one of the worlds most deadliest toxins.
Here's an article about Sodium Fluoride, and how it affects one of our most important neurotransmitters.
You cannot say sodium fluoride and calcium fluoride are the same. They are vastly different.
Here's an excerpt from the article:
Sodium Fluoride: the Obedience Drug by Stephan Cooter, Ph.D. Calcium fluoride and fluorine are nature’s mineral salts as found in some natural waters, in tea, and other foods. But sodium fluoride comes from aluminum ore, and it is a byproduct of the modern aluminum industry. Unfortunately, sodium fluoride inter- feres with one of our most important neurotransmitters, acetylcho- line. (See "Fluoride: Governmentally Approved Poison," http:// www.arthritistrust.org. Ed.)

Hey we're questioning the supposed benefits over the supposed negative effects
When science has shown that the benefit of fluoride is a decrease in decay of about a 0.6 of a tooth surface ( grinding teeth having 5 surfaces, cutting teeth having 4 surfaces )
So through being force medicated there is an improvement of, at most an 8th of a tooth, spread over your whole mouth ..........so that's the benefit .........plenty of negatives tho
Would we all agree that Mother Nature through its millennia of evolution has got things so wrong that we are forced to give our children fluoride at 25,000 % more than is in mothers milk ?
Applying fluoride by toothpaste .......yes
Application through ingestion .......no.........do you drink sun screen ?

Water in the USA ,was fluoridated in 1945 .Everywhere .
Saying there is natural fluoride in water,is like say there's natural trace minerals and oxygen in water.
No kidding .

The pain is still there though even if you use fluoridated toothpaste - it's just you can't feel it. Not a good philosophy IMO. It's the reason I don't use other "pain killers".

It was fluoridated everywhere when I was growing up in the 70s . I think almost all major cities were fluoridated by the 60s .
And your post is the one that's confused.
Naturally occurring fluoride isn't remotely like what's put in our water ,ergo ,our water isn't fluoridated to make the levels higher than naturally occurring fluoride make it .
All of which was said in reply to your post by someone else as well .
I bet you think the arsenic in chicken feed is just like organic arsenic .
As of May 2000, 42 of the 50 largest U.S. cities had water fluoridation.

Villiaumite is a rare halide mineral composed of sodium fluoride, NaF. It is very soluble in water and some specimens fluoresce under long and short wave ultraviolet light. It has a Mohs hardness of 2.5 and is usually red, pink, or orange in color. It is toxic to humans and should be handled with care.
Do you think they are mining villiaumite for use in drinking water?
Or perhaps it (sodium fluoride) could be a product of another chemical process, which is sold for money to go to drinking water?
So the natural form of NaF (villiaumite) is toxic to humans and should be handled with care. Meanwhile, the drinking water form of NaF (sodium fluoride) -- is safe?
It makes no sense!!
