"DECATUR, Georgia (AP) -- Authorities arrested a man for allegedly kidnapping and attacking a police officer, but after an investigation they released the suspect and put the officer behind bars.

Jones, 47, had reported that he arrested Robert Williams on October 31 for loitering, but claimed Williams overpowered him, stuffed him into the trunk of his own police car and drove him to a wooded area, where he tried to kill him. Jones said he managed to draw a knife and stab Williams, who then ran away."

I am not trying to give a bad name to all the cops, but just being unbiased.

I have the utmost respect for all cops, afterall they put their life on the line everyday for us. So please don't arrest me.

Cops are people, too. It's a tough job, and situations come up.

Over time, especially in smaller departments, the desire to protect innocents can lead to territoriality and a tendency to bend the rules a little.

It might start with a little unnecessary roughness, then escalate over time. Without proper supervision, it can go from expressions of minor frustration and misconduct to serial murder.

There are towns in America where drifters know not to let the sun go down on them. Just ask the Sheriff of Boone County about that.

This sort of thing is nothing new or unusual. What is unusual is that this guy got caught and faces prosecution.

That's the real news.
