This may have been answered and I'm sorry if I missed it. So one entry (image) per post correct? So we cannot upload two or more images for the contest in one post?

Well, and it is possible I have missed something important....or have a huge typo...or.......it will also make it FAR easier to tally the votes this way

I'm not entering the contest, I'm a complete idiot with avatars. However, if anyone is taking requests....I think griffins are pretty cool.

So... which one of you volunteered me to count stars???? Huh???

FWIW, i would love to see your avy reworked (now that you aren't in class everyday, possibly). But, like Sheepslayer, your avy is kind of an icon of ATS. So while I would be happy to rework it, replacing it entirely is not something I am keen on participating in.

No way, my avi is here to stay.

My son is named after that mythical creature I mentioned (when both mom and dad are teachers, you have to get creative with names or forever be reminded of at least one student). So I wasn't requesting a new avi for me, just putting a buzz in folks ears about a possible subject not many would consider.

But now my curiosity is piqued....how would you rework it?

Stand by.....ill work on it this evening. Right now....stupid credit card reconciliation from may takes precedent.

Do we draw them by hand?

Or use some art program on a computer?

Cause all my art is by hand. I can't do computer stuff.

I would suppose it is up to you.

BUt, on a totally related note, if you ever find you have drawn something you want turned into digital art, someone at the thread linked in my signature would be ecstatic helping you.

Thanks But I didn't do the avatar. That's really similar to my art style, though.

But my avatar is computerized.

You can 'computerize" an avi fairly easy by scanning it in. Perhaps some cleanup would be needed for smudges, etc. BUt that is easy.

ETA: I use Photoshop. Others use Gimp or Paintshop Pro. Long story short: use what you would like. I am happy to help you in any way you would like.

I'd add a bit of animation.

If bfft can make it full size, (meaning from 170x240 to 180x480) I can see a bit of metal bicep flexing, and perhaps an optional wink, nothing extravagant, but rather subtle. I gotta ask, what effect would you like to see?

Imagine, smylee, a full background avvy with animation. It's yours for the asking.

Back on topic, Griffins are cool, and fit the theme. I'm sure one of us may use the idea. Sooo many mythical creatures.....

Thanks, but animated avis make my head spin. Now, a subtle wink would be cool, but only if it isn't too much trouble.

That's why I emphasize subtle. Just a slight bit of movement.

Are you opposed to the metal bicep flex? Really, anything is possible, but that and the eye wink are the easiest effects. Don't wanna make you seize, just a little something, a bit of movement.


Does the Sheepslayer avatar make you sneeze? On that order, nothin harsh, just, well, PERSONALIZED. That's what we do.
