I searched and didnt see this posted but that doesnt mean it's not. Mod's please close if it has.

There was a thread about this facility a fews weeks ago.

Three padlocks were cut to the Boston water supply aqueduct today.

The padlocks to hatches of an aqueduct outside of Boston that supplies drinking water to the metropolitan area were found cut Monday, leading to local concerns after there was a trespassing incident.

The CBS affiliate is reporting the details, noting that three padlocks were cut from separate access hatches located at approximately half-mile intervals along the aqueduct. Police say there is evidence of an attempt to cut a fourth lock.

Related: Seven foreigners from Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and Singapore were arrested for trespassing at the Quabbin Reservoir last month.

I pride myself on not being a suspicious racist bigot, but, the above quote has my spidey senses twitching BIG TIME.

Just the fact that there were trespassers, needless to say nationals from countries involved in activities which could be damaging to national security, would have worried me. But then to find the locks cut to the hatches to the metropolitan water supply a short time later. I would be terrified if I lived in that area.

Just my two cents.

You did not risk being racist, as the races of the individuals were not noted.

You may be a xenophobe, as they were noted to be foreigners. It made me twitch too, so I might be xenophobic too!

Worth a lot more than 2 cents.

Officials say the drinking water does not appear to have been tampered with.

"Appear" and "Has not" have very different meanings.

I wouldnt chance it.

Ya know how much water flows through an aqueduct? LOTS. I'm sure the would be thieves were looking for equipment to steal.. no one with any poisons could harm anyone as diluted as the poison would be so this wasn't a terrorist attack IMO.

If the city was That worried about poisons in the water supply they would not protect it with common padlocks.

Poisons one thing
Biological contamination can be a whole other matter

Thumbs up on the spidey senses

Well, I didn't used to be xenophobic. I worked for years with people of many different nationalities and citizenship status'. I have good friends who are not native born. And their religious preferences and races have never come into my thought processes.

However, I also do not believe firmly in coincidences.

I wouldn't want to chance it either.

I don't think it is a coincidence that those two incidences happened as they did. Of course, I could be wrong.

lol, you beat me to the biologicals response.

There are just too many varieties of toxins, poisons, and radioactive mediums out there, and of course, I read a lot. lol

It pays to listen to your Spidey senses.

Also a chance that "you could be right"!

Curious to know how they can suggest that the water (doesnt appear) to have been tampered with? There certainly has not been enough time to have it tested. Would it appear differently had it?

It was the batman villian. Ras Algul(sp)
They are going to microwave the water and release a deadly drug that turns people into crazies.

We need Batman.

Only if they used Kool-Aid or some other colored contaminant. But as the poster above said, with the quantities of water, even a colored additive would not be immediately apparent.

Methinks they are simply calming the masses, to preclude panic and an inconvenience to the sale of the lucrative water supply.

Da da da da da da da da ... BATMAN!

Sorry, I couldn't resist. But, holy contaminants, could even Batman retrieve the waters that have already flown into the public pipes? I don't think so.

I personally don't think it's racist or xenophobic to make logical conclusions in a suspicious series of events like this. Those people have no reason to be there, they were trespassing, there was criminal damage, and the security of the drinking water supply was breached.

I think it's pretty reasonable to form conclusions based on all available evidence.
