Oklahoma...besides the tornadoes, flooding is being a big concern now. Still tornado warnings going on in Oklahoma, hail, some almost 90 mile hr. winds.....heavy winds and tornado warnings for St. Louis, Missouri area also.

OkCity Mayor is down inside a vault at a jewelry store....says he has heard of injuries, cars damaged, trees down. North of downtown St Louis and the airport there in danger.

In Oklahoma, cars stranded, some flipped, damaged and some folks missing, Mayor and Weather channel reporting.

Joplin may be getting warnings soon TWC says, Now,, Illinois and Wisconsin getting storm problems.

I think storm chasing would be fun, but that's a risk you take by attempting it. More experienced chasers know how to stay away from the storm, but sometimes you just can't get away in time. Hope whoever's vehicle that is is okay though.

Tornado Emergency In Oklahoma City | Hunt vehicle thrown about 200 yards by the tornado

The National Weather Service in Springfield has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
Cherokee County in southeast Kansas...

* until 900 PM CDT

* at 829 PM CDT... a severe squall line capable of producing tornadoes
that may not be visible due to heavy rain was located near
Treece... and moving east at 35 mph.

Hazard... developing tornado.

Source... radar indicated rotation. Winds to 70 mph will also be
possible with this storm.

Impact... Mobile homes will be heavily damaged or destroyed.
Significant damage to roofs... windows and vehicles will
occur. Flying debris will be deadly to people and animals.
Extensive tree damage is likely.

* Locations impacted include...
Baxter Springs... Columbus... Crestline... Faulkner... Galena...
Hallowell... Lawton... Lowell... Melrose... neutral... Riverton...
Roseland... Scammon... Sherwin... Skidmore... Stippville and Treece.

This is a new Tornado Warning for Cherokee County. An additional

Just to be clear, nobody was killed in that particular incident on the highway where The Weather Channel car and other storm chasers cars were damaged.

But, there are confirmed fatalities in this series of tornadoes already.


*EDIT* Channel 4 (KFOR) just reported that there was a double-fatality in the area of where those cars were damaged.
