Hezbollah has an almost unparalleled status in the Muslim world, thanks to their successful expulsion of the Israelis from southern Lebanon after 22
years of occupation. Many are divided on Hezbollah's decision to enter into the war on Syria, but there is widespread surprise at a French and UK-led
call for the EU to list Hezbollah as a terrorist organization, a move which would throw Lebanon's democratically-elected government into chaos.
Many analysts believe that this attempt at destabilizing the Lebanese government is part of the EU's unthinking support of Israel.
Intrusion into the politics of their former colonies is standard practice for France, and Lebanon has been no different. A regular visitor to Elysee
Palace is Saad Hariri, scion of the billionaire Hariri clan, which has been voted out of office due to their costly decision to burden Lebanon with
foreign loans and shocking allegations of widespread corruption.
The EU says it may only blacklist the military wing of Hezbollah. But just as the EU did with Palestine's Hamas a decade ago, many expect that
Hezbollah's political wing would soon be condemned as well.
If the EU follows through on such a threat, analysts say it would give more credence to the accusation that Western nations will talk about the
importance of democracy, and then seek to criminalize a democratically-elected political party if it refuses to serve their interests.
Hm. I wonder what finally pushed them over the edge, yet, they can't make up their minds?

The UK already has the military wing of Hezbollah on its list of proscribed terrorist organizations
And my understanding is that it is UK who is pushing for this with the backing of the French to see the military wing of Hezbollah on the EU list but
not the entire organization of Hezbollah. Essentially the UK are looking for the rest of the EU to adopt a similar policy towards the Hezbollah
military wing as they do.
OP, running to PressTV about a story like this really is not a good idea, very much pro-Hezbollah and anti-Israel your source couldn't be much worse.
