There is no way this would be work for example in Portugal. There are entire regions of middle and lower class people spread in to remote areas that are growing their own and have done so for centurys. How are they going to control all these people and their seeds. Some people dont even know we landed on the moon and dont know or care about what goes on and they are old. Who is going to sit and watch these people be arrested and shot. And they are not nice people when you tell them what to do...goodluck.

Ummm... ok. So when a couple battalions of blue helmeted (insert your favorite boogeyman here) come rolling through those villagers and order them to comply or just round them up for "re-education"; then what?

You watch too many movies.

They don't want seeds from the tree of life to be grown, only seeds that produce food that we eat that will make us die in the regulated timeframe. Will the weeds need to be certified also? What about stuff like asparagus that has been in the yard for many years, take pictures for evidence, they are grandfathered in.

Really? Can you please tell me which sections spell that out? Perhaps I just imagined the sections that said:

* As under this Regulation the definition of operator does not include private persons, the term 'professional operator' is used, and

* Furthermore, plant reproductive material exchanged in kind between two persons other than professional operators is excluded from the scope of the Regulation.
