Being accused of making a sound that you know you aren't?

Makes me think of something that happened in our house about 2weeks ago,at night round 11-12 o'clock.We were all in bed,I thought my daughter was askeep too when I heard this really creepy sound coming from her room-a low growling guttural voice speaking.I could'nt make out what it said but as I got out of bed immediately to check her room,she called out:"Mom did you hear that?!?! She said it sounded to her like it was coming from My room.That was weird.I checked outside her windownthroughout the house-the hubby was'nt eveb snoring.

Has your mom ever been checked for tinnitus? Sounds like it's possible that she could have it, although that would be completely ruled out if you did hear the same thing on that one occasion. Just throwing an idea out there. Definitely not dismissing something paranormal. I'm a believer, for sure. Just thought tinnitus might be a possibility.

My grandmothers hearing aids did this often. Any chance your mother uses one?

There are a number of causes of feedback.

1. Your hearing aids are not properly adjusted and consequently are pumping too much power into the higher frequencies that you can’t hear (which are more prone to feedback). (I mentioned this one in my article of January 8, 2006.)

2. You have too much wax in your ear canal. This prevents the earmold going in far enough and sealing properly. Hence the amplified sound leaks out (which gets back to the mic and produces feedback).

3. Your earmold is too small. As a result, it doesn’t fit tightly enough. Some earmold material shrinks over time making them become loose. Other times your ear canal expands. For example, it could expand if you are a new hearing aid wearer, or if you have lost weight.

4. You didn’t insert the earmold/hearing aid properly. If it doesn’t seat properly and get a good seal, it can cause feedback.

5. If you have a Behind the Ear (BTE) hearing aid, you may have a cracked tube or earmold that lets the sound leak out.

6. Your vent is too big. Depending on your hearing loss, you may be able to get away with a large vent, or you may not be able to have any vent at all. Typically you want the largest vent you can get away with as this lets your ear canal breathe and reduces the occulsion effect (like you were hearing in a barrel). One nice solution is to have earmolds with big vents and then plugs of varying sizes that you can insert to reduce the vent size to one that works for you. This is what I have. My earmolds came with a very large vent built in, and a series of 6 plugs I can insert ranging from big bore to small bore to no vent at all.

I can whistle through my bottom teeth without making my mouth form the traditional whistle shape O. I used to do it in school and the teacher would yell at the boy who sat in front of me. LOL. Don t know what Mom is hearing. Its not me.....

I've heard many tones from very low to squeelingingly high. The worst are the ones you dont hear at all.....

How did you get that organically engineered kid? You had to get pretty darn close to that female thingy to do that. And that guy talked about his wife so unless he lives in one of them states where gay marriage is legal I think he's a dude.

I have been attacked physicaly by what you would call demons or schizophrenia for 4 years now. Once me and an older guy were about to have a cigarette when we both heard the same voice from his stomach.

you should get some professional help. I have a friend who is schizophrenic and he is doing really well.
Please fight it and don't give in to your psychosis. You don't sound that disorganized so I think that there is a huge possibility that you would find great relief in symptom management. Please seek professional help if you have not already.

And if you think it is demonic in origin (I'm not saying that it is not. Honestly, I'm on the fence about what causes mental illness. But if you say demons, I'll believe you.), go and talk to a priest. Seriously. A priest would be a good adviser for you in your situation, methinks.

You miss my point, my post said 2 different people heard the same thing from him. Same as the OP just different. I'm years into treatment, its a daily struggle.
