This vid was on my FB so I thought it interesting enough to share...it seems to have some good advice, not only for protesting patriots but for all protesters...what are your thoughts ATS???

An xmarine is explaining what a kill zone is in reference to bridges and how it is an unsafe place to be when there is a large gathering of people like in a protest situation...

I'm glad that plenty of folks continue to support Bob Powell.

I'm also happy that his content is still allowed on ATS even though he is not.

I believe he is absolutely correct with his warning.

I have to admit that this is not one of my topics that I am well versed in but I thought his warning about bridges was something any protester should take into consideration...

I distrust Government as much as the next ATSer, but seriously, we have been hearing martial law was imminent since 2001. That was 12 years ago at this point.

It gets a little old.

Also, I really doubt they would mow down thousands of folks open carrying. That would be insane. If the protestors were being peaceful and were just killed, you would see armed revolt across the country in a matter of minutes. The gov doesn't have the resources to quell such a thing.

Yes. The Kent State Massacre is a terrible stain on this nation's history, but this event and the Kent State shootings are entirely different scenarios.

Powell presents this as a killzone and gives the impression that thousands of people may be slaughtered, while open carrying, on a bridge at the nation's capitol.

This is outlandish for a number of reasons.
For instance...unless they BOMBED the damn bridge, it ain't happenin' without many police officers being killed themselves. It would very quickly escalate into a full on battle.

In this climate, any such battle would almost assuredly spark even more unrest around the nation. There are A LOT of disgruntled people right now.

There is no way the Government would literally risk a civil war type scenario simply because they wish to deny a few thousand people their right to peacably assemble.

ETA: this wouldn't be something that could just be swept under the rug. This isn't 1970 anymore. Today everyone is a journalist. Massacring even 300 people in broad daylight in DC would gain the attention of the entire nation. And unless the protestors just opened fire on the police completely unprovoked, this would turn into a total ish storm no matter how you look at it.

But seriously, these "kill zones" would not be limited to bridges, they could be on any city street with buildings lining both sides.

Did some digging and found out that the kokesh July 4th march has been cancelled so with all that off the table the video is still a valuable safety tool for future protests if nothing else...

I disagree.

lets remember that though they may be armed their weapons are supposed to be locked and the magazine/clip removed. They will most likely be met with large numbers of police telling them to disarm or disband. The moment they refuse tear gas and rubber bullets will fly once one marcher retaliates with a live weapon it is on and the final nail in the right to bear arms is gone for all of us. Maybe cops dont shoot back for once, it will make the police a martyr and gun owners terrorists.

yes that is true, its important not to get boxed in, just in case one needs to flee for safety reasons...Common sense is not so common these days!!!

Just when you said there would be an armed revolt for shooting unarmed protesters. I personaly do think this would be the case, as history has clearly shown, American makes a habit almost out of shooting/detaining and assaulting unarmed protestors. I think the people would just accept the lies from our government and propaganda ministries as we usualy do like the sheep that we are and continue on. If Americans have not revolted against the tyranny they have experienced so far, they never will, simple as that.

All of human history shows you to be wrong.

Americans have officially been in a state of full on revolt twice. Well once becoming Americans and then again in the civil war.

Lately Americans seem a little more complacent, but that possibility is still very real. All it takes is one egregious event and it is on. That's just how it works.

All of Human history shows me that does it?, when a country such as the United States can only trace its history back, what?, 230 years? and it is "all of human history" that is going to prove how Americans fight tyranny?.

Native Americans

Used to be a lot more of them so I hear, not sure what happened, some kind of genocide or tyranny, one or the other, maybe even both, I dunno history is not really my thing.

Good point. Except that the Native Americans DID fight back. Heck, they fought a war against their oppressors. They certainly weren't successful, but they did fight.
