So by Israel's logic, anyone defending themselves are threats...
The only threat Israel has to worry about is a threat of a retaliation.
Which in my opinion, is perfectly acceptable. Sorry, but if you throw the first stone, don't try and hide behind anyone else, take the hit like a man. Better yet, don't give anyone a reason to retaliate.
Common sense isn't so common these days.

If your a head of state you cany be a complete idiot.
I'll just come out with it instead of beating around the bush....
Did Assad buy amnesty from Russia with this sale? Maybe an armed
esscort out of there when its surely time?
He may have to bring in a couple key figures to help the paper pushed
through so nobody that can asks.... WHY WOULD YOU BUY MISSLES YOUR
NEVER GOING TO GET TO USE??!!
Remember what happened to Gadaffi?.. Its got to be going through
Assads mind thats for sure.
Put up your hand if you would pull off what ever you could to make
sure you could pull out.
This whole thing was a sham, just like Lybia. Its got to be frusterating
as hell to see whats happening and had just seen it happen 2 doors down
then have to buy your way out like a coward just to not end up beatin
and shot within an inch of your life, defiled, drug through the streets
by a bunch of Talliban terrorists.

(YahooNews)-BEIRUT (AP) — Syria has received the first shipment of Russian missiles that are part of a more sophisticated air defense system, President Bashar Assad told Lebanon's Hezbollah-owned TV channel, according to remarks released by the station Thursday.
Bashar Assad's comment on the arrival of the long-range S-300 air defense missiles in Syria could further ratchet up tensions in the region and undermine efforts to hold U.N.-sponsored talks with Syria's warring sides.

All of Syria's long range missiles have already been destroyed by air strikes from Israel weren't they?
Where exactly would Russia put missiles in Syria where Israeli airstrikes wouldn't take them out???
Russia's failed miserably in Syria. They aren't even making any money "selling" missiles to Syria....how would they get paid? Dead syrian bodies?? Syria's got nothing left to pay with.
The report also indicates that an advanced radar system was installed in all key Syrian military and industrial installations. “The radar system also covers areas north and south of Syria, where it will be able to detect movement of troops or aircraft towards the Syrian border. The radar targets include much of Israel, as well as the Incirlik military base in Turkey, which is used by NATO.” (Ibid)
While there is no official confirmation that the S-300 is already functional, Syria possesses the Pechora-2M air defense system, which US military sources admit would constitute “a threat”, namely an obstacle, in the case “a no fly zone” were implemented in relation to Syria. The Pechora-2M is a sophisticated multiple target system which can also be used against cruise missiles.
The report points to the deployment of S-300PMU, while confirming that the “[s-300] systems will not be turned over to the Syrians. They will be manned and serviced by Russian personnel. ((Kommerzant in Russian, emphasis added)”.
Russia has not yet delivered S-300 missiles to Syria: Putin AFP - Russian President Vladimir Putin said Tuesday Moscow had not yet delivered its sophisticated S-300 missiles to the Damascus regime despite hints from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad that such shipments had already been made. "The contract was signed several years ago. It has not been realised yet," Putin said at a joint press conference with EU leaders. "We do not want to upset the balance in the region."
“As for the S-300s, it’s one of the best air defense systems in the world,” Putin said following a Russia-EU summit. “It’s a serious weapon. We would not like to tip the balance of power in the region. We signed the contract a few years ago. It has not been implemented yet.”

Russia will drop the missles off get paid and most likely call up Israel and give them the location so they can destroy them. For Russia its win win. They get paid and they also get to keep close ties with Israel and that military tech they need so badly from them. Syria gets screwed of course but a dying regime just a chance to milk it dry before it crashes.
