my ufo

i have been seeing this object for at least a year now starting around last June.. it used to come once a month in the early morning hours between 0300 and 0500 it would be stationary and just blink and have a smaller reddish one with it. sometimes it would hover 15 minutes then blink out and then come right back near the original position. then it switched on me and come in the evening around 1900 and 2200. i sent a report to mufon got a hold of one of the investigators and he told me there are no satellites in that part of the sky.
we are near Chicago airport and we see the jets that are coming in and out of the airport and they are really high and are on fixed routes. this thing hovers well below it. it was overcast one time with heavy cloud cover and we saw it there too below the cloud deck. this is the one and only video of this thing. we took footage once before and when we uploaded it into the computer it was gone like we never took footage. maybe we did forget to hit the record button but i dont think so. this is my first u tube upload so if it does not work i apologise ill send it direct to someone here if i have to so you all can see it.

Yea, I know what you mean about re-occuring UFO's.

And stars that aren't actually stars aha.

Hmmmmm.

You did a good job of keeping the camera steady. But without any point of reference the video is worthless. No offense. If the thing keeps showing up, you should resolve to get better footage.

ill try once i get a camera my buddy actually took the footage and were more concerned about getting the object as clear as we could . our fault i guess. but it is still coming so maybe i can get better footage once i get a way better video camera.

Sounds good. You may wanna check out some of the different things people are doing with IPhones and such. You may be able to use a smart phone and a cheap telescope. Don't trust any odd shapes you may see in that footage. They are artifacts.
The only thing I can tell for sure is that there is a white and red light. From my perspective it could be anything from a plane to a cell tower.

Satellites orbit earth so yes they can be in any part of the sky.

Did you research to see what should be if anything in that area of the sky at those certain times?

i contacted a mufon investigator about it and he told me there are no satellites in that part of the sky and it was always below a cloud deck...it has always hovered in the same area of the sky...it would wink out and then reappear we have seen it wink out when a plane get close to it and when the plane passed it would wink back to life again. the very first time i saw it it was well below a cloud deck that no stars or the moon was visible.the sky was was filled with storm clouds if i remember right. at any rate it was visible and no stars were visible in any part of the sky...just clouds and this object that was hovering below it..

Incoming planes do,

Heading in the right direction from your perspective they could seem as though they are hovering.

Did you verify to see for yourself? did you check any of the satellite tracking websites?


I find it confusing that you say its below cloud cover yet you would ask mufon about satellites.

You should download and install This free program so that you can discount (or confirm) a celestial object , the strobing of vivid colours and its arrival at certain times of the year could be a clue to it being a Star something like this .

when i contacted him about this i made sure that it was not a celestial object and the fact that it appeared too many times and disappeared on a monthly basis usually on the last week of the month, i can discount it as being a satellite.it was never always there. even on the next day it was not there or the day before either.if it was a satellite i should be able to see it almost every day or night. and the fact that is was in the early morning time then the early evening time and with the camera used that was the tightest zoom we could get. if it was a star it would not be that big in the frames. and stars don't wink out in the cloudless sky them wink back in again as in my video did.

You have just described the best time for viewing satellites.


However you say its below cloud cover so again I do not know why satellites have been brought up as a possible explanation unless your not that confident that what you saw was below the clouds.

i am confident that is is not a satellite i brought it up because i knew that someone would bring it up as a possible explanation. it was always at the same place and altitude every time roughly 15 to 20 degrees off the horizon if that helps any.i also wanted to eliminate all possible explanations for it as well when i talked with the investigator.
it was too low in the sky for a satellite.
it was not a plane. it was stationary and blinked out then back again
it had its own little satellite lights as well on other occasions
it was never always there even on the clearest nights
planes were seen on flight paths that were always used and it blinked out sometimes when planes passed by it
there were stars in the sky along with this one as well and the perspective on my part was it was in the atmosphere in the sky.
it appeared only on the last week of the month for one day/night
one sighting did have it below a well covered cloud deck with no stars showing.. just this light and that is the position it always appeared at.
at the longest it stayed was 30 minutes then it would blink out and not be back till the end of the next month
its smaller light that accompanied it was a reddish colored light that seemed to pulse and strobe too.it was a much smaller light but just as bright as the main one. they would hover together.

Its just a theory but I think you have seen Venus with the accompanying reddish colored light being the red giant Aldebaran

i downloaded that program and took a look at it.... there are two satellites in the sky in that area but they are too high and too distant one is over 700 miles way according to the program. tried to find mars but it is in a different part of the sky too around 10 in the evening.

anywhere from approximately 1000 to 2000 feet i would haphazardly guess.

It would be near impossible to determine an altitude for this source of light. You would need points of reference for that. Or data like size and quality photographs.

ETA: also, its hard for me to accept the celestial body theory based on the video I saw. In the video it appears there is either more than one source of red light (two cell towers?) Or the red light moves.
