Christian, jew, monkey, toast.. WHO CARES?

Hi friends,

Does it matter what label you carry in your life? One can claim a thousand times he might be this or that, you are either a believer, or you aren't. That's how our Ruler distinguished humanity, and it will always be so.

So why go shouting you're a catholic, or a jew, or a christian? God is blind to such statements.

All He sees are believers and non-believers.

It's not that 'cut & dry'. It's more complicated than that. There is a big area in the middle, between those↑two.

Also, some people change. Some believers turn into non-believers. Some non-believers turn into believers. (and possibly even multiple times, for some)

the bible says "faith without works is dead"
you're hinging this on whether someone "believes" (in God) or not... is that all that's required? ..just belief?

what if one believes, but doesn't obey?

there's a quote from the bible that comes to mind.. "the tree is known by the fruit" ..so yeah, we can 'claim' we're this or that.. but in the end, if our actions don't square up with those claims.. we're just full of #..

Of course it doesn't matter what you label yourself, but usually when you do label yourself, you are alienating yourself from other people. Alienation causes separation and separation causes hate and hate causes war and war causes death.

There is a reason why religion promotes throwing a label on yourself, they want you to feel superior to others and when you feel superior you start to hate. Religion cares nothing about unity, they only care about creating confusion, blindness, hate, and DEATH (spiritual and physical).

sigh.. you guys are so confused..

I thought it would rain stars and flags on this thread, I get some depressed responses. You guys so lack spirit..

There's not very much meat or context in your thread, so I can see why it's not "raining" stars and flags here. If you want stars and flags, put a little more effort into your posts. Not a knock on you, just a little advice.

Political systems and institutionalized religion are pernicious instruments of division. Yet at the same time, the 'herd mentality' works to keep the affiliated members in a 'partisan mindset' under the authority of a quasi-reputable leader(s) while 'otherization' is used to justify the marginalization of unaffiliated members.
