I had the hardest time understanding why the Black Eyed Peas are famous until I ACTUALLY LISTENED to the lyrics of "where is the love".

100% absolutely the most Christian song I have EVER heard. Amazing lyrics that need to be STUDIED by all! Thank you ATS for making my voice heard, please hear my cry for repentance in hating on the Black Eyed Peas!!!! They may have made songs like "Somethin for that Ass" and "Let's Get Retarded in Here", but the lyrics of "Where is the Love?" are truer now than EVER. It will be their legacy!!! LISTEN!!!!

www.youtube.com...

May the teachings of Christ be with you, and the Holy Spirit guide you, and the Father forgive you through Jesus!

ICTHYS!!!!!

I will give that song with lyrics a listen later when I'm by my pc,for interest's sake.I've never really listened to their stuff before but having a teen daughter,my oldest gal,who liked some of their stuff,I was'nt impressed by what I heard-sounded mostly like an endless repeating of "Shut up shut up" or "My humps my humps".There was one song by Fergie herself that was'nt so bad-well actually lemme get to the pc-i just thought of something appropriate to post in relation to another topic also-will let you know shortly what I think:-)

Here it is without the music.

What's wrong with the world mama?
People living like aint got no mamas
I think the whole worlds addicted to the drama
Only attracted to the things that bring you trauma
Overseas yeah we tryin to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin
In the USA the big CIA the Bloodz and the Crips and the KKK
But if you only have love for your own race
Then you only leave space to discriminate
And to discriminate only generates hate
And if you hatin you're bound to get irate
Yeah madness is what you demonstrate
And that's exactly how anger works and operates
You gotta have love just to set it straight
Take control of your mind and meditate
Let your soul gravitate to the love y'all

People killing people dying
Children hurtin you hear them crying
Can you practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek?
Father Father Father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cause people got me got me questioning
Where is the love?(where is the lovex3)(the love2x)

It just ain't the same all ways have changed
New days are strange is the world the insane?
If love and peace so strong
Why are there pieces of love that don't belong
Nations dropping bombs
Chemical gases filling lungs of little ones
With ongoing suffering
As the youth die young
So ask yourself is the loving really strong?
So I can ask myself really what is going wrong
With this world that we living in
People keep on giving in
Makin wrong decisions
Only visions of them livin and
Not respecting each other
Deny thy brother
The wars' going on but the reasons' undercover
The truth is kept secret
Swept under the rug
If you never know truth
Then you never know love
Where's the love y'all?(I don't know)
Where's the truth y'all?(I don't know)
Where's the love y'all?

People killing people dying
Children hurtin you hear them crying
Can practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek?
Father father father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cause people got me got me questioning
Where is the love?(where is the lovex3)(the lovex2)

I feel the weight of the world on my shoulder
As I'm getting older y'all people get colder
Most of us only care about money makin
Selfishness got us followin the wrong direction
Wrong information always shown by the media
Negative images is the main criteria
Infecting their young minds faster than bacteria
Kids wanna act like what the see in the cinema
Whatever happened to the values of humanity
Whatever happened to the fairness and equality
Instead of spreading love, we're spreading anomosity
Lack of understanding, leading us away from unity
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling under
That's the reason why sometimes I'm feeling down
It's no wonder why sometimes I'm feeling under
I gotta keep my faith alive, until love is found

People killing people dying
Children hurtin you hear them crying
Can you practice what you preach
Would you turn the other cheek?
Father Father Father help us
Send some guidance from above
Cause people got me got me questioning
Where is the love

It is a good song, with a good message.
If you truly want a main stream band christian song...these guys got it. In the live version he explains why he wrote the song. A Little's Enough is actually about God.

The live version is the only video of Tom DeLonge's message

This is another good message from him

This song sounds slanted to the Christian faith-but it is a beseechment to all of mankind to unite in love and compassion for each other.

..the black eyed peas promote christianity?

matthew 19:21+
21 Jesus said to him, “If you would be perfect, go, sell what you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow me.”
22 When the young man heard this he went away sorrowful, for he had great possessions.

..happened to see WILL.I.AM on the ellen show a few days ago.. he seemed really enamored with his shiny new custom-kit car

you're going to see this all through your life, OP.. people talking the talk but not walking the walk..

..and it's up to you to figure it all out

Christians stay mad at everyone and anything they think is a "sinner"...they love to pick and choose which sinner to hate more as well. Very strange group.

It is not "slanted" to the Christian Faith! It is The Christian Faith.

Bob Marley ( Berhane Selassie) was baptized into The Ethiopian Orthodox Church.

I would hope that the Ethiopian Orthodox Church is CHRISTIAN enuff for you???

I don't think this is strictly a "Christian" song, to say that would be to ignore all the atrocities that have been committed in the name of Christianity. I'd have to say it's more of a "humanitarian" song. Love is not confined to Christianity and Christianity alone.

While it may not be "Christian" per se, this is one of my favorite songs ever. It talks about what's wrong with the world around us and has a very profound message if you pay attention to the lyrics.

No sun will shine in my day today; (no sun will shine)
The high yellow moon won't come out to play:
(that high yellow moon won't come out to play)
I said (darkness) darkness has covered my light,
(and has changed) And has changed my day into night, yeah.
Where is the love to be found? (oo-ooh-ooh)
Won't someone tell me?
'Cause my (sweet life) life must be somewhere to be found -
(must be somewhere for me)
Instead of concrete jungle (jungle!)
Where the living is harder (concrete, jungle!).

Concrete jungle (jungle!):
Man you got to do your (concrete, jungle!) best. Wo-ooh, yeah.

No chains around my feet,
But I'm not free, oh-ooh!
I know I am bound here in captivity;
G'yeah, now - (never, know) I've never known happiness;
(never, know) I've never known what sweet caress is -
Still, I'll be always laughing like a clown;
Won't someone help me? 'Cause I (sweet life) -
I've got to pick myself from off the ground
(must be somewhere for me), he-yeah! -
In this a concrete jungle (jungle!):
I said, what do you got for me (concrete, jungle!) now, o-oh!
Concrete jungle (la la-la!), ah, won't you let me be (concrete, jungle!), now.
Hey! Oh, now!
---
/Guitar solo/
---
I said that life (sweet life) - it must be somewhere to be found
(must be somewhere for me)
Oh, instead of concrete jungle (jungle!) - illusion (concrete, jungle!) -
Confusion (confusion). (concrete, jungle!) Eh!

Concrete jungle (jungle!): baby, you've got it in.
Concrete jungle (concrete,jungle!), now. Eh!
Concrete jungle (jungle!).

What do you got for me (concrete, jungle!), now? /fadeout/

Baby music from the Kindergarten! Baby music for baby minds!

actually, you've really hit on something here

take a look at the way will.i.am and his friends are dressed in that video.. and you can see this sloppy dressing method all over the hiphop scene..

they look like little sesame street kids who's mommy didn't tuck their shirts in, etc

Friends of mine don't have the time
For food or wine
Just money is on their minds

Life is sweet
On a one-way street
They're indiscrete
And funny, they'll never meet

(Da doo da doo doo doo doo doo) X 6
Oooooooohhhh

B-bay-b-bay-b-bay-b-bay-bay-ba-baby...

I gotta get a two-ton truck
I gotta get a two-ton truck
I gotta get a two-ton truck
I gotta get a two-ton truck
I gotta do it to a duck on a two-ton truck and fade away like Ron Rene
All right, all right

ahhhhh ahhhhh ahhhhh ahhhhh

You got the magical mystery tour
You got the magical mystery tour
You got the magical mystery tour
You got the magical mystery tour

And Kurt is the Walrus
And Kurt is the Walrus
And the Walrus does funny
things to the veins in his left arm,
yeah All right

And Michael is now a father, all right
And Michael is now a proud father, all right
And my good friend Michael is now a proud father
And Michael is now a father, all right
And that means Michael's wife is a mother, all right

Up the thirteen steps of the gallows walked the condemned man
And time passes very quickly when death is near
After having completed the first step, the condemned
man knew there were but twelve left
Before he would meet death and his soul would leave his body
And after having completed the thirteen steps the condemned
man was met by a giant cloaked figure
And with a quick flick of the wrist the man was dead
And his soul left his body and went down down down
To a place we laughingly refer to as hell
But none of us will ever go there because we're all far too groovy
The man's body was left to rot on the gallows
And a great multitude of black birds came and picked the man's corpse apart
Piece by piece
Limb by limb
Until nothing remained
And his blood melted into the ground below

The gallows was made from a tree created by God
The man's blood dripped into the ground which was created by God
Even the giant cloaked figure which was the man's own end was created by God
Even the man's soul which went down was created by God
Even the black birds which picked the man's corpse apart were created by God
AND WHERE WAS GOD?

In Flanders Fields the poppies grow
between the crosses row on row
to mark the dead

To Flanders Fields the hippies go
to smoke the poppies there below
and feed their heads

And they're all friends of mine,
each and every one of them,
no better and no worse
And we'll probably end up
down there together when it's all over

And that's why we say
B-bay-b-bay-b-bay-b-bay-bay-ba-baby...

All right, all right, ALL RIGHT
It's, it's all over and it's all right.
It's all over and it's all right.
It's all over and it's all right.
All over, and it's all..
IT'S ALL RIGHT

Funny because it seems in most cases in order to get famous you literally have to sell your soul to Satan. You probably think I'm joking but this is something that we need to explore more. The pop artists even put it in their music videos.

So yeah, most of the time to make it big in the music industry, you literally have to make a pact with Satan himself.

Pretty crazy #.
