This is about how more and more people suffer from Depression and how the government creates and uses this. A depressed person is more likely to buy stuff, possibly drink more alcohol, and worry more about what others think. Some of them still are depressed despite being positive and doing activities. The depressed are too worried about getting in trouble to start a protest about what they think is right. The depression is being created by the exposure to certain harmful chemicals and being less exposed to sunlight and beneficial chemicals. Fluoride, poor nutrition, lack of exercise(basically, anyone who dances like no one's watching is ostracized and alienated even at parties), and other factors create such a decreased production of serotonin that the chemical imbalanced often stays and become stronger, causing depression. Not to mention the illegalization of anything hallucinogenic(which release serotonin) and even SSRI's being less prescribed. They want us to be consumeristic zombies who sit on a couch with a six pack of beer and cry and think that buying something will make it all go away. Selling your gold for cash and spending it wildly is made to seem "cool". And learning and taking action is made to seem like something a "loser" would do. www.infowars.com...

I understand where your coming from and what your saying. Having gotten over depression myself I can see how everything I did when I was depressed was likely just to make me more depressed, and going the other direction was almost impossible.

But why does there have to be a 'they' involved?

Society is what it is. Blaming other people for your problems, be it parents, culture or governments, is part of the problem of depression. I'm not saying you're doing that, btw.

I believe some people are in a weak state of mind (they can change that though), they will seek help from others rather than helping themselves, and big business sees this, and pretends they have the answer to make them happy. Be it with alcohol, cigarettes, TV, fast food, sex - anything that stops people having to think for themselves. So they make money - that's how it works.

It's the individuals responsibility to see through it all.

This isn't an ideal world right now, but if everyone held a philosophy of personal sovereignty, we could all take one step closer.

I have a theory as to the explosion in the number of diagnosed cases of clinical depression. Simply put...television and more importantly...the prevalence of news coverage. We have been inundated by a culture of fear, wars, famine, and hardship and anguish of our fellow man for well over sixty years now. And who reaps the benefits? Large pharmaceutical companies pushing copious amounts of largely experimental drugs that have barely been studied and whose side effects are worse than the depression...I can attest to this first-hand. I actually had a series of seizures...one which stopped my heart and breathing on Wellbutrin just recently and it was the only thing that worked effectively. I was finally able to like who I was for the first in my life. I am still recovering months later...

Maybe increased toxin levels also have to do with it. Increased toxins in our gut and our bloodstream.
