LOL...I KNOW the difference... in fact I considered that perhaps you did not, since you mentioned the animation going back and forth....but I didn't point that out as that might have been annoying....and for the same reason I wouldn't correct someone's spelling or grammar.....

Doesn't seem to work for me.

The escape button works on most browsers, but not on Chrome. If you are using Chrome, get the Gif Stopper extension. Once you have that, hitting the esc button will work to stop the annoying avis.

2-3 out of 10. For me anyway it seems the size of the moving part of the avatar makes a huge difference for me.
Blinking eyes or small movements are OK for me. It's just rapidly moving up or down movements or side to side.

I hear you OP. The strobe-light effect from a particular avatar is pretty rough for me, although it may have a little bit to do with the person posting. Nothing says "keep scrollin'" like that dern strobe light.

I don't mind all of the animated avatars - some are quite funny. But if that strobe can bug me, I can see how some of the animations could distract and annoy.

WHATEVER you do... DO NOT watch the ATS magazine cover on my avatar for more than 5 seconds... otherwise this will give you more cause to rant and make your brain explode!

The escape button is quite a good thing to press, as other posters have already suggested?

Just read the posts and don't look at the avatars that you know are annoying... (as they say... do not judge a book by the cover... just look and read the pages within)
