Melbournians.

Let's face it , the fifth test is the "Nelson" moment for your current test team.
Chin up mate! I was there with all us Aussies - giving it to the Poms ... and everyone else.

Then the inevitable retirements etc. that lead to morphing (ideally) teams. However not always ready to pick up from where a dominating team has had to restructure itself - left off.

Border started it, Steven Waugh owned it. "Take no prisoners" under a calculating and ruthless Captain ...
Worked out to be a very winning formula, however that became boring.

Luckily other countries gut's it out ( as we did during the Windies years ) . Whilst applying similar govt. backed sporting programmes to not only cricket but all sports ( olympic mainly ).

This has made a more equal playing field with more incentive - everyone gets a fair crack - all good in my view. The shorter version of the game esp. 20/20 and Big Bash are also very exciting for a "fast food" market.

I'll stop talking now.

I wouldn't do you the indignity of mentioning a sport where supposed men fall over for a free kick every time their hair style goes out of fashion.

I watched our union boys against the All Blacks a while ago, OK so we lost, but it was a gutsy performance and the team is starting to gel.

Morning mate.

Not going to be a good week this week.

I think I held my father in-laws hand for the last time yesterday... one of the most heart wrenching moments of my life.

Doctor has confirmed to the family that he has lost his battle against the big C and that it is just a matter of days now.

I might not be on much over the following days so hugs and good health to you and Mrs C for the roll up to the coming new year.
