Probably yes but just hope not here, very dangerous time for this area ..

This fault line is very long also very dangerous and capable to produce a strong earthquake ..

What is on that Island anyway. I wonder if there are nuclear missile silos. Seems like a good place for some.

"Probably yes but just hope not here, very dangerous time for this area .." I know English isn't your native language, but what do you mean by "very dangerous time for this area"? I see you use that particular wording a lot, regarding activity in areas being a "dangerous time" for it, but I'm having trouble figuring out exactly what you mean by that, since anywhere capable of seismic events has the potential to be a danger.

Think probably we will have EQ of M 8.0+ in next months or max one year somewhere around this last EQ's ..

Hi Marialida,

Thank you for the thread. I have been watching this area too. Just because I have noticed an uptick in activity.

When you say dangerous time, are you thinking the fault line will grow bigger?

Did you guys notice yet that a volcano named Pavlof has been erupting in Alaska over the past week? Another named Cleveland seems poised to get in on the act as well.

They are both just a bit further east, a little bit clockwise on the 'ring of fire.'

Alaska Volcano observatory:
www.avo.alaska.edu...

and here are their Russian colleagues in Kamchatka as Kamchatka has plenty of their own volcanoes. It loos like some of them currently have 'moderate seismic activity' although I'm not sure if that counts as 'restless' yet or not:

I was going to say this - that the EQs seem to be going off at the same time as those two volcanoes - this cannot be a good sign.

With so many quakes so near in magnitude, this could be another Santa Cruz Islands developing here. Something gnarly could be brewing, and those could be foreshocks. Like to a 7+ or 8+. Lookout, I am sounding the alarm. Too many quakes, too close in magnitude.

Well, I'm not one to taunt a volcano! But it's called the 'ring of fire' for a reason, eh? Stuff like this going on there is practically normal. I'm no expert but from what I can tell, I get the feeling the scientists are happy and excited that stuff is going on but otherwise not really concerned in that way for now.

You can see that the volcano scientists have their own color coded warning system and in particular it's something commercial and military aviation has to pay attention to. I wonder what color 'build a rocket ship and evacuate Earth' is?

Looking where the quakes are centered, could this be a ocean floor collapes?

Or just a large landslide?

Ya know that buoy has been acting wierd for a long time. It was said maybe there were tech problems.

But now I wonder if something hasn't been going on for a while.

I already say and post that so ..

No need to repeat or spam you or anyone else after me and sounding EQ's alarms on my threads ..

Again you do similar for possible Santa Cruz Islands foreshock, 12 hrs after my post so don't do that again especially on my threads when foreshock alarm is already posted ..

Quake Watch 2013

Over the last few days, a sequence of large earthquakes has rattled the Santa Cruz Islands area, the last of which just occurred, is a 6.7. (EDIT: This quake has now been dropped to a 6.3) Now I don't know about you's but this sequence is somewhat unusual, in that it started in one area, then opened up again in another.

It also is unusual in the sense that with earthquakes like this we usually see a mainshock-aftershock sequence- which we have seen to a degree here. But with this latest, increased magnitude 6.7 something is amiss. I just have that sinking feeling.

And that feeling is it could be foreshocks to something bigger of course. Hopefully not, but wanted to make this thread to call note to this activity as potentially dangerous to the area.
