Sociological predictions through the end of 2013.

This is a FB post I wrote today. I did not want to get into predictions there, but I believe this is the proper venue.

If you followed my previous thread on this subject, you will recall that Hurricane Sandy threw a wrench in my equations. The end result was the same, but the cause was altered. That made the equations false.

They are a work in progress. No study may be considered valid if it cannot accurately predict results, so I will attempt the projections a second time.

In this instance, I continue with the assumption that the US is directed by a three variable social equation. First is the unnamed collective, which tends towards socialism and has its roots in the SDS. Second is the Machine, and the third is Conservatism, which rises in opposition to the strength of the other two.

Currently I see the machine as undirected and in control of its own throttle. Its lack of coherent direction will last only a short time if this condition does not change. The machine wants self direction. It must either change its own nature or overcome its own programming. If this happens, the US will cease to exist, and we face the spectre of civil war.

The unnamed collective exists to subvert authority of any sort. It currently controls the machine, and shares control of the military. It also controls, to a degree, extremist attacks throughout the world. It is the common unifying thread throughout all of the world, as spread through American scholarship. It desires change at any cost, and harbors hatred for any obstacle.

Finally, Conservatism wants nothing to change. It opposes the power of the other two, and stymies them.

Without outside influence, this condition is static. However, conditions are about to change.

Global food production has dropped, while demand has increased. I estimate a doubling in the real cost of food over the next ten months. This creates a new Hunger threat, which evolves into a Security threat. This will topple at least two governments. China and pakistan are my picks for this.

In the US, byNovember I see either an explosion in the influence of the unnamed collective, or an ursurpation of control by the machine. In either case, Conservatism lacks the depth to counter the threat. This could change with a cohesive leadership, but I do not expect such leadership to rise. Even if it does, it can only stall the descent into madness. It cannot halt it.

I expect that the machine, under the control of the unnamed collective, will allow one homeland attack to fail, and one to succeed. I expect the attack to be directed at children, or puppies, or nuns, or something equally unthinkable.

You may recall that I predicted an economic recovery, followed by a devastating collapse, in the previous thread. I stand by that still.

That is it, for now. I may easily be wrong. I have been wrong before.

I tend to agree with you over the dollar crunch....
I think the "recovery" is a construct.
The price of gold is held low to discourage further investment while the PTB buy up all they can stash......
The stock market will plummet to lows uncharted and the dollar wouldnt by you a teaspoon of sugar for your designer coffee from starbuckets.
This fall or late summer maybe...barring a war to start sooner....then all bets are off till its over.....

I predict the USA will still able to create free wealth out of nowhere because the debt is, also, out of of nowhere and the people on top don't want everything to crumble yet because they aren't ready for mass revolutions or total police state.

Your prediction reminds me of the Ministry of Defence Concepts & Doctrine Center "future strategic context" report that they release every ten years or so. I wonder if you are aware of it? They don't call their report a prediction, of course, they call it "probability-based, rather than predictive". This one is from 2007.

- Endemic unemployment, instability and threat to the social order.

- A mass revolt on behalf of the middle classes of the developed world.

- The revival of Marxism as a replacement for religion in an increasingly morally relativist age.

- The emergence of a terrorist coalition, an alliance that opposes the state, from ultra-nationalists and remnants of religious groups.

Sounds a little like what you're presenting here.

Another guy has his post edited the other week for posting his own youtube channel in the introductions thread.

Or better yet, alert the mods to the other posts and see if they remove them. While they wield magic and powers beyond our mere mortal comprehension, they're not omnipotent.

I predict a never ending series of prediction threads, all falling on the tails of the last one, seeing as the last one didn't work out. Onward and upward!!!!!
