I think Tesla imagined a device that could be built to cause earthquakes and that it would be used for war in the future. I don't think nukes were involved in his theoretical design though.

Did a search and found this book at amazon... what the?

Interesting thought. Didn't the government do some tests in the late 40's or early 50's where they did detonate some nukes in the sea? What happened, does anyone know?

They tested nukes just about everywhere on this planet including very far up on the edge of space and underwater.

The SWORDFISH test in the 60s was of a nuclear depth charge but only had a yield of something like 20kt quite small compared to other nuke test. They also had a Nuclear torpedo MK 45.

The water test I have seen made some big splashes but nothing even close to a tidal wave
