Need some help?

Generally a new thread should have more than one line and 3 linked images. You should have some more text there telling us what it is we're looking at, what it is you want us to pay attention, etc.

Also, it helps to provide links to the original pictures (from their web sites where you got the photos from), as people are going to ask for those too.

Just some helpful hints.

If you look at the whole bunch of threads he's created in the last few days, they mostly seem to be like this.
Mostly short, a few lines, no real content.

I'm no expert on where stuff would land from the Mars mission, but the planet ain't small and the chances might be quite slim, could be wrong though. Definitely a shiny object (possibly made of metal) so it's either a piece from the landing or something else.

The images wree recoverd from this web site. Not sure which sol was indicated, but if you want to have a look you can.

Looks to me like one of the early Curiosity pictures that showed debris from the descent rocket pulley system, some kind of shield that was jettisoned..... I am trying to locate those, but cannot as yet find them. I am sure I have seen this image before, anyone?

Interesting also to note that there is no "imprint". it seems light (in weight) and just resting as though it was polystyrene with a metal cover (foil)

Well, if it's not part of the US Rover (Curiosity) lander, it may be part of one of the umpteen Russian failures that probably dot the Martian landscape.

Shield, yes. Curiosity, no. No terrain like that around Curiosity.

The image is from the Spirit rover, Sol 80ish of its mission. Nine years ago.

Both of which would have led to links showing it was an old image from Spirit.

Pretty sure the pics you link to are those taken by the rover Spirit shortly after landing. Suggest you look at :

What you are seeing is the backshell or heatshield of the spacecraft which crashed into or close to Bonneville Crater, nearby to where Spirit landed.. But I could be wrong...
